I pity the hopelessly romantic. Try a shot of nihilism.
What does 'nihilism' mean?

What does 'nihilism' mean?
Nihilism is the belief that all values are baseless and that nothing can be known or communicated. It is often associated with extreme pessimism and a radical skepticism that condemns existence. A true nihilist would believe in nothing, have no loyalties, and no purpose other than, perhaps, an impulse to destroy. While few philosophers would claim to be nihilists, nihilism is most often associated with Friedrich Nietzsche who argued that its corrosive effects would eventually destroy all moral, religious, and metaphysical convictions and precipitate the greatest crisis in human history. In the 20th century, nihilistic themes--epistemological failure, value destruction, and cosmic purposelessness--have preoccupied artists, social critics, and philosophers. Mid-century, for example, the existentialists helped popularize tenets of nihilism in their attempts to blunt its destructive potential. By the end of the century, existential despair as a response to nihilism gave way to an attitude of indifference, often associated with antifoundationalism.

Reading this again, I wonder if Nietzsche was right?

Friedrich Nietzsche who argued that its corrosive effects would eventually destroy all moral, religious, and metaphysical convictions and precipitate the greatest crisis in human history.

Sorry. I know I'm deviating from topic.

By the way, if Nilhilists are correct, then, of course, there is no such thing as a crisis. It's a circular argument.

i think it's not what you are going to do, but what she is going to do (bearing in mind we are only hearing your side). she needs to get her self-esteem in check and stop comparing herself with this other girl.

Realize the futility. Enjoy what you can knowing that it will soon fail or you'll be swimming in a pool of romantic misery and will soon drown.

Don't stick with jealous women.

I'll now butt out and let the other romantics take over. The girls will encourage you as well. Beware.

You are welcome to hear her side. I have nothing to hide. That's the whole point. By the way, it's not 'the other girl' but 'other girls' as takes her fancy. It could be anyone she is jealous of!!!!

If you went away together to somewhere new, which would leave, 'you & her' happier when returning after a week?

A) As friends.

B) As lovers.
Probably as lovers, deeply in love.

So yeah, if you love her and want it to work then that's exactly what you'd need to do. You'd have to work at helping her...

If you can't help her & you love her, then you'd let her go... because you love her.

p.s. Help doesn't equal war.
Let her go? No way, man.
