are there anyways to test your IQ via the internet (accurate and FREE)?
In general the tests on the interbutt are feel good tests. I've seen some that actually have trivia questions on them. I've scored 10-30 points above actual range on every web test I've taken.
Anyway, there are few accepted tests and those are usually given by schools or psychologists.
California Test of Cognitive Skills
Differential Ability Scales (DAS)
Otis-Lennon Tests
Otis-Gamma Test
Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT)
California Test of Mental Maturity (CTMM)
Cattell
Reynolds Intellectual Assessment Scales
Stanford Binet
Wechsler Adult and Children Scales
There are tests for IQ available on the internet - the reliability of them depends on how you stick to the rules and times. Many people refuse to believe in IQ tests and their use - they are often [not surprisingly] the ones who do not do well at the tests.
Supervised tests are more accurate, obviously.
Free is a different story.

IQ is a mickey mouse concept, designed to compress a multidimensional unquantifiable set of psychological variables into a single number. it's simply ridiculous.
it's like taking a picture of a painting, measuring it's rgb components, calculating a single number from them, and using that number to describe how pretty the painting was. the 'prettyness quotient' would be devised to give an average result of 100, and 150+ for the 2% of pictures that differed enough from the average picture. it would work exactly like the IQ measurements.
Originally posted by wormwoodThis comparison is technically flawed (of course), but I like the idea.
