How many of those start as independent provinces? I'll go down as far as saying an unannexed province is 50% of an annexed province in value though I consider that as an underestimation, but anything lower is too much.
Good point, but an annexed province should still be 2.5 times more.

Looking at it quickly the biggest effect on the power ratings would be those realms who hardly moved like France and the Byzantines would move up at least 3 spaces. That seems like a rather strange result. I think I'll keep the PR like they are.

OK. Moving or lack thereof should also count for something. Lucky Hungary!

Grow up?

Every post you make in reponse to me has been an insult to my person. You know NOTHING about me. You dont know if I know military terminology or history or tactics or diplomacy or anything else.

This is the last time I am going to ask you to stop with the insults, then I am reporting you.

Oh come on, people, if you don't want to play the verbal game with no1 the best way to deal with it is stop talking to him in this thread, and just get on with playing on the map.

Reporting me to whom, Emily Post?

Is there still some of that popcorn? You wouldn't have a cold beer by any chance?

King Fred, England's pride--why have you invaded Aquitaine with such a pitifully inadequate force?

Playing the "verbal game" is one thing. Having our intelligence questioned, being treated as though we are complete morons at tactics, and continually being "propagandized" by No1 is not something I look forward to. Yet every one of his posts is the same. Very, very few posts of his in this thread have not been insulting to us in one fashion or another. He likes to make up stuff about us, and then makes some broad all-encompassing derogatory comment about us, usually prefaced with the word "obviously". He reacts like a 5-year-old to anyone who has any kind of issue with him or what he says. He is absolutely the worst Diplomat I have ever seen in Diplomacy. He'll have you think this game is all about "numbers". It's not. It's all about who you make friends with, and who you piss off. He shows no discrimination between making "friends" and pissing people off, quite often attempting both with the same person.

But your advice is solid. I've already decided not to deal with him in any way. He's already screwed himself in this game with his mouth. This is NOT Panzerblitz. It IS Diplomacy.

Oooh, Panzerblitz...reminds me of the old days when we had dozens of little cardboard squares spread all over the map. An errant roll of the dice would inevitably send them flying.

Pitiful? You forgot the smiley.

May I remind you that Freddie also lost a five ship fleet in the Bay of Biscay and Aquitaine is down to 1 carrack? I figure Aquitaine left a small force behind in Trastamara trusting he would not be attacked there and loaded the bulk of his expeditionary forces to ship back to Poitou or Gascony. They were met at sea by the English fleet while it was en route to Poitou. Those Aquitainian troops (274/12) are no more, along with 3/4 of the Aquitainian fleet.

I don't know his troop losses, but England lost 3 cogs and 2 carracks. I think he may have gone in with too few forces or they weren't instructed to board ships. Probably the latter, but you do owe him plenty of thanks.

EDIT: Better watch out, he'll have cash left over from his failure to build forces in Trastamara.

All apologies, King Fred. I wasn't aware of England's considerable sacrifices in our great cause. Many thanks!

You will surely gain a province & help split Aquitaine' forces. The question is--do we strike now or wait for Aquitaine to spend its hoarded gold & bounce back?

Aye. It would have been a major loss for England, but a Pyrrhic victory for Aquitaine which has lost considerable forces and I doubt will be able to rebuild it's troublesome fleet for some time - if ever. God willing.

EDIT: I'd say, hit now and hit hard but expect the unexpected as seen by his previous moves. For all you know, he could abandon Gascony to reinforce Auvergne, but he can't be everywhere. You need to talk to King Fred privately. I'd help, but I'm too far away. When I can, I don't mind sinking the rest of his navy, but that will take time. Maybe Morocco can help, but that will also take time. I figure the English navy will be too busy for a while.l
