I hated this thread at first but now find it amusingly pathetic
well most of them found the whole story very funny and entertaining. most said never gamble with him again. many wanted me to punch him out. some offered to mur$der him for me. a real funny one i might consider actually doing is this one:

"1.) Change the locks and dont let him know...
2.) Put hair removal stuff in his shampoo
3.) Exlax is a great investment
4.) Toothbrush + toilet after mexican food"

whats exlax? im guessing its a laxative, lol, that would work nice and then i could use his own poo on his toothbrush.

someone else mentioned about getting revenge on his step-daughter. another one mentioned:

"Tempting....very tempting....I'd probably do just that...but then again I tend to "tilt".
From what he's been saying about this loser, he'd most likely sue mom and pop....
I'd stop playing/talking/acknowledging his existence and chalk it a cheap "lesson in life"...
and if he's "renting from mom and pop" be sure to mention the "wads of cash" and the possibility this guy is up to no good....
"drifter personality" + "wads of cash" = run, don't walk to the nearest exit"
thats true his already been busted once for growing pot. he claims he dosen't do it anymore, but im not sure if i believe him. he did offer to pay some of his debt with pot but i refused since i only smoke occasionally plus he didn't have it on him at the time. at least i coulda sold it. by the way i live in nelson, bc, canada, its the pot captital of canada!

heres another post:

"I'm on board w/ the poster that said "I can't believe I just read all that". I can't believe I just read all that - LOL...
Seriously...I'd rather live in an efficiency appt than live w/ a roomate like that. $10 for doing your dishes? Bye Bye...
So you lose, he wants money immediately. You win, and he's a loafer.
I agree - kick him out...but in the meantime, keep posting - reminds me I don't have it so bad...LOL..."

and heres one more:
"Holy crap$$ Arrak, maybe I'll have time to read your book later! lol"

You don't even seem to know how to play poker. You don't play poker for $10 a game or $100 a game, you put up an ante, get some cards, bet, get more cards, bet again, etc. (the number of rounds of betting depend on what you are playing, draw poker, 7 card stud, texas hold em, etc.). If you have crap cards you fold and lose your ante if you have good cards you bet, raise or call.

At the end of the hand if you fold you don't see your opponenets cards but if you call the bet you see your opponents cards. End of story. If you can afford to lose $100 you go in with appropriate value chips with a small ante and a pot limit bet (or say 4X ante) and when you are up $100 to $200 cash in and take your winnings. When you lose $100 you stop.

You don't play again until he pays. After he pays you play again but your limit remains $100. If you lose $100 you pay and end the game - thats all YOU can afford to lose.

If you can't afford to lose play for fun or bet at 1c a chip with a 4c/8c maximum raise.

I don't think you know how to play poker. What sort of game were you playing? and seriously no one is this much of a sucker and no one can be such a jerk as the guy you describe. If he is real have your parents throw him out. Otherwise stop making this trash up.

i really only started playing poker for the first time last spring. i played online at first and then i played a few times with mine and my brothers firends. i just thought it was fun, no huge games or anything. as for the way that we bet. i guess its a bit different from what you are describing. but how we bet is kinda like it is online. i mean its a bit different but similair. for example we'll play a $10 game. so we each start with $10 worth of chips. and then we have blinds and play from their the winner takes all. thats just how we played it works fine. that wasn't the problem.

looking back on it. i must admit i enjoyed randys inmaturity, depression, and rage. it was fun to watch, i mean this guy is twice my age and he was acting like a baby. also i shoulda just ignored him like he ignored me, when i'd ask him about the money. i mean before some of the early games he said i'll pay you tommorow and then he avoided just talking about it all together. on top of that i was feeling lucky and i thought he'd have bad karma for acting like a d!ick. oh well, i guess it was partly my fault as well i shoulda just stopped at a certain point and just waited for him to pay me, even if it woulda never happened. i learned my lesson that next time if im up like that its time to call it quits until i get paid something.

by the way we where playing texas hold em.

yeah im never gambling with him again, thats for sure. i mean honestly the guy is a slightly better poker player then me. his advantage comes from the fact that over a 2 month period his looked at my cards over countless hands and because of that recently he was really picking up on what id bet with and what i wouldnt. plus he bluffs occasionally and im too ...[text shortened]... him but just for $10 games. i think he knew my plan and thats why he didn't want to pay me.
Good good. I know this doesn't belong here but whatever, lets keep the chat alive.

Sometimes he bluffs? See i've heard this on tv also and stuff that you aren't allowed to bluff.

Isn't that part of the game!?

Bluff is when you try to make others believe you have a better hand then you actually do. Isn't that what poker is all about?

Makes no sense to me. Explain this!

O I c.

Well I hear it on tv also and movies.

No bluffing allowed. That's ridiculous. Part of the game. How can you play poker without bluffing?

O and are you telling me you never looked at his cards? I find it hard to believe that you would let someone look at your cards for months and never return the favor. That's a huge advantage.

edit2: HUGE!

well when he first started looking at cards i was quite a bit annoyed. but mind you until that time i hadn't played much live poker as well. so i didn't know what to do. i did get to look at his cards but he looked at mine way more then i looked at his.

when i came up with the 5 red chip rule (the highest value chips) for looking at cards i thought it would work great. i thought id get quite a few chips off him for looking at my cards. he did it on at least 4 occasions that i caught him and each time he threatened to not pay me at all if i took those or any of his chips.

If your opponent knows you never bluff you will always lose.

The trick with poker is to get your opponents to think you are bluffing when you have a good hand (so they stay in and you win) and to think you are not bluffing when you have a poor hand (so they fold and you win).

Bluffing involves playing the odds. If you have nothing and

10H, QS, 8H, 9H, QH

and you have KS and KD and you are convinced your opponent has Q and another low card (so he has 3Qs) do you bluff you have a straight or flush which beat him. You presumably beat high as 2Ks beat him up until the end even if the QH hadn't come up and a 3rd king would have won anyway.

If you don't bluff this hand, give up poker as you do not know how to play it.

well rarely do i truely bluff. i guess you can call what i do semi-bluffing. i mean, for one i always like to raise preflop. second say that i have two suited cards on in my hand and then two suited cards show up on the flop, i'll usually throw in a pretty nice size bet. im trying to get the flush but if i ever get it its anohter thing. same thing goes for if im one card off a striaght. another thing i'll do is if their all the cards are showing, after the river. i might throw in a decent size bet if i figure my opponent dosen't have any pairs and i have the high card. also if i have the second or thrid highest pair i'll throw in a descent sized tester bet to see what my opponent has or dosen't. sometimes i'll check with the best hand hoping my opponent may senses a weakness and bet. im not a great poker player by any means but i do win my fair share of games playing the style i just described.

Wow, this has got to be one of the goofiest threads I've read in a while. The guy is 45 year old, living in your house and making money off you. You're a sucker and as for all this crap about wanting to "play people," you've only made 1 move in the month you've been on the site.
