He just sent me a pm about a particular image at the exact same instant that I sent him a pm about the same image.
My fiance wasn't half as excited about the coincidences as I was, for some reason. 😀

Are we really going to wait for another week before lifting anonimity?

Are you planning on re-running any of the previous themes for competitions? I've missed some good ones, it seems.

I enjoyed seeing some different playing environments and interesting chess sets. I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to put "Timebank Running" or "Adjournment" in first place. Both are quite atmospheric, but give me quite different feelings (strangely enough, I find the atmosphere of "Timebank Running" much "warmer" than that of "Adjournment", even though I am sure the temperature is much higher in "Adjournment" 😉 ). "Timebank Running" is quite poetic. In "Adjournment", I like the clear lines and the lighting.

When I created the Natural Wonders round, I generalised it greatly to make it accessible to all, combining a number of rounds I had in my mind, eg: wildlife, sea, lakes, mountains, clouds/fog/mist.

I'd like to see those as individual rounds, even allowing for some resubmitting (so long as the resubmitted pic is accompanied by a new entry, maybe).
With the slower nature of the rounds recently, people have a long time to organise to take a picture.
Looking at flickr tags, Depth of Field, architecture, flowers, food, landscape, macro, trees could be good rounds. As could something very abstract, like rounds for blue, red and yellow?
I'm not sure if I heard this idea in one of these threads, but it could be fun to try to take pictures in full colour to look like black and white pics, ie: and almost black and white round (no computer adjustments allowed? ).

I like your ideas a lot, Ragnorak, especially the one about breaking down the natural wonders into more specific categories. It seems as though a lot of people have shots like that lying around already. The "black and white" idea is a good one, too. Along those same lines, I wouldn't mind a round to see if we can create painting-like photos. So, the point would be to take a picture--of anything--but have the goal be to have the picture look as close to a painting as possible.
Also, if we had a longer list of subjects/categories for competition, then we could start getting shots in mind ahead of time. This would hopefully shorten the voting period so we could have more competitions and share more photos more frequently. Thoughts?
