@earl-of-trumps saidI don't think that would work, primarily as the best threads tend to wander from the original OP (and then sometimes back to it). Some thread creators are quite possessive of their threads and would likely squash any digressions, to the detriment of the thread.
In the imaginary world, here are the new posting rules.
The originator of the thread has the following powers:
1) Thread starter, or OP, can delete unwanted posts at his discretion
2) OP can remove unwanted posters from the current thread
Too radical? It might cause problems as well as solve some.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidYou'd have never see me create so many threads, had anyone thought of that, before coming up with this plan? 🙂 Oh yes, you'd have to specify how many Threads a poster could start up too and over what period of time! 😉

EDIT: Note the edits in this post.....LOL....Now count them in the whole thread! 🙂

@ghost-of-a-duke saidgoad, how many you figure I'd remove just for fun?
Yet in the thread Rookie linked to above you posted:
"I do like the idea of the creator of the thread being able to have it removed though."
Give it some thought!....LOL....

@handyandy saidYes, I remember back then too Andy. That would be your own thread of course, nothing to do with anyone else!
In the past, the creator of a thread had the right to close the thread or at least request that it be closed if it drifted too far off the rails. I don't know if that step is still allowed.
EDIT: Just for fun! A moderator would be the only one able to remove it. We never had the power to remove one ourselves. I remember getting Phlabs to remove a couple for me.

Not everyone is pissin in their pants like you rookie!!! 😛 🙂
I still think your funny as hell, meant as a compliment of course! 🙂
This is only my 10th post, now count the EDITS!!!! 😛 😉
I'd remove your post for not using a capital at the beginning of a sentence, you see how silly it could get? 🙂

@torunn saidJust once torunn speak for yourself and keep the 'WE' out of your comments if you could?
As we were saying... some moderation may be necessary.
EDIT: This is an edit to your edit, that is the reason We as subscribers have Moderators to moderate the threads! I don't think the person making the thread can Moderate their own thread, a bit bias wouldn't you agree?

@divegeester
I also again re-propose my previously unpopular idea of the mods being able to limit the amount of posts an offender can make in one day.
I could go with that, or some variation thereof

What is your limit of posts an offender as you put it can make in one day?
Maybe you have some new interesting ideas..... Spell it all out for me, as many will tell you I am a little slow reading and understanding! 🙂
You can make a club and do as you wish you can be the Club leader and Moderate it as you see fit, all those who agree with you are sure to follow you!

@Ghost-of-a-Duke
nicely articulated. And certain OP's may be avoided for that reason.
