@rookie54 saidMy sympathies. Please just lie low and hang on for now, if only that.
OBEY or DIE
america is no longer a free society
i know what i must do
As for dying, there's time enough later for that. To be incarnate in the first place is a unique opportunity, no matter how crappy the surrounds or the concourse.
However, at the moment it's weird that "this too shall pass" does not quite have the palliative effect it used to have.
my nostalgia keeps me awake at night
such an influence upon my young life were the beatles
BUT
when they composed and presented to my youthful ears the idea of living inna yellow submarine i was mesmerized, fascinated, stunned beyond all the limitations of my developing brain cells
this leads me to my conundrum
they sang,
As we live a life of ease
Every one of us has all we need
Sky of blue and sea of green
In our yellow submarine
how the heck did they know of the sky of blue?
how can this even be possible?
they're UNDERWATER for goodness sake
no human eyeballs can discern the color of the sky whilst ensconced inna submarine of ANY colour (< -- notice the honorary english spelling)
pah!
i am SO DONE with the "beatles"!
NEXT!
@rookie54 saidAlong those lines, why do so many kids think our sun is yellow and draw or paint it that way?

Especially since we tell them not to stare at it -- but if one does look at it (ever so briefly), our sun seems more white than yellow.
Some kind of weird but well-intended indoctrination?
Plus, if our moon reflects the light of our sun, why does the moon look white?
@Arkturos saidTo placate racists?🤔

@Great-Big-Stees saidSir, I feel somewhat stunned into mental silence by your koan from the north.

@Great-Big-Stees saidHow could I reply in a way that does not obscure the sound?
Koan? I'll koan ya...What's the sound of one hand clapping. Koan me that.🫢
(BTW, I think my answer is much better than the conventional one documented in Yoel Hoffman's compilation from the 1970s. 😉 )
@Arkturos saidYes, the Sun is commonly called a "yellow dwarf" star (a G-type main-sequence star), but it actually emits white light; it appears yellow from Earth because our atmosphere scatters shorter blue wavelengths, leaving more yellow and red light to reach our eyes. In space, the Sun looks white, but atmospheric scattering makes it appear yellow, especially at sunrise/sunset, and even more so at high altitudes where less atmosphere filters the light.

Why the "Yellow Dwarf" Name?
Classification:
"Yellow dwarf" is a classification (G2V) based on its temperature and spectral class, not its precise color, as some stars in this class are white.
Temperature:
Yellow dwarfs have surface temperatures around 5,000–6,000 Kelvin (around 10,000°F), which is cooler than blue stars but hotter than red stars, putting them in the yellow/white range.
Why It Looks Yellow
Atmospheric Scattering:
Our atmosphere scatters blue light more effectively (Rayleigh scattering), which is why the sky looks blue.
Color Shift:
When blue light is scattered away, the remaining light reaching our eyes is richer in yellow and red, making the Sun appear yellow.
How to See Its True Color
From Space: Astronauts see the Sun as bright white.
High Altitude: Even on Earth, at high elevations (like the Rocky Mountains), the Sun looks whiter because there's less atmosphere to scatter the blue light.
Yer welcome.
they say i lost an hour of sleep last night
lol
"they say"
i put on basic armor and i went outside the front door
i flagged down a passing woodpecker and asked him if he, too, has lost any sleep recently
he ate a bug
there are a few cats running loose that tend to fight and howl all night long like a rock n roll song
i asked the one that would bother hizzelf to listen if he? she? had lost any sleep
i was reminded of why talking to cats will get me laced into yet another offwhite straightjacket
i queried the buzzards that were eating gawd knows what on the highway north of here
what they thought about losing sleep to governmental control of clocks
all three of them indicated i looked like brunch
but truthfully, i did wash before leaving the shack, so their snotty was dismissed with prejudice
i went home
i reset the clock on the stove and the one on the microwave
the act of turning on the bluetooth and connecting the stepcounter watch
reset it automatically to the proper time signature provided by the compliant internet provider
and the wifi they provide that always seems to know what i plan on doing at any given time
HA!!! "any given time"
skynet and the comet are colluding to confound the citizens
and we all will acquiesce
@rookie54 saidSome here, like some of you folk, are not acquiescing. Having said that I/we are not amongst those rebels…yet.
