Originally posted by Dragon FireI used the otb games since on RHP so far most of my opponents have been rated under me. I could probably have played 1.d4 or 1...d5 in most games and still have a simlar score......where as the OTB games are for the most part against people of simlar rating.......playing 1.d4 or 1..d5 is not an option otb 🙂
OK not as many games as on RHP because OTB games tend to be less but the K G is still standing up well. I'd like to see comparative performances on RHP here and I am interested to see how the new OTB season starting next month for me pans out with the opening theory learnt here (watch this space in 12 months).
The only point I was trying to make, whic rrent tournament will only add a handful) . All I can say is I don't like playing against it.
I'm just curious about your guys stats. You must have used some program such as fritz or something to get the stats for Rhp right?
Because Rhp doesn't sort the games by opening for you 🙁
DragonFire, with you playing K G as white, what responsed did you get for black?
1.e4 e5 2.f4
2...exf4 ___ how many?
2... Something else What and how many?
What about 2...exf4 3.Nf3 ___ ?
I think it really depends on how black plays. I've seen players crushed as black because of thier opening, but I've seen white get nothing more then a draw because black chose a different opening.
I think if you know what you are doing against K G, Then as black you are fine.

Of the 56 games 32 (57.1% ) responded 2. .. eXf
5 responded d6 (I lost 1 of these);
4 responded d5;
3 respnded Nf6;
2 responded f6, Nc6, Bc5, Qf6 and Qh4;
1 responded Bd6 and f5.
Some of these responses were bad and black got slaughtered quickly. 2. .. d5 caused me the most problems as white conceeding 2 draws.
I always play 3. Nf3 if the gambit is accepted and the responses to this were
9 responded 3. .. d6;
4 responded 3. .. g5;
3 responded 3. .. Nf6; Nc6; d5; or Be7 (I lost 1 of the Nf6 and 1 of the d5);
2 responded 3. .. Bc5;
1 responded 3 .. h6;c6;a6;g6 or Qe7 (I lost the c6 game)
All my losses were from careless middle game blunders unconnected with the opening to players rated 1890, 1750, 1550 and 1560. Of my victories about 12 were against players rated 1700+, 20 1500 - 1700 and the balance easy wins against players rated below 1500 but I think the KG is holding up well.
I don't often face the K G as black. At the moment I have won 1 and lost 1. The loss I blame on my book as I followed a book line until too late and really had no real input. The lesson I learnt from that was to actually play through the book lines ensuring I understand the resultant end position and am happy with it. If not deviate as soon as possible to get your opponent out of his book. My win was a response of 3. .. d5 after 3. Nf3. I used to play 3. .. g5 but got into a lot of difficulty at times.
Originally posted by Dragon FireI also created a separate folder (As I pointed out, and I sometimes analyze games with F9 and save them into a CC DB).
