It's a bad move for black. Who suggested Qh4+?

Somebody on page 2 or 3. I posted analysis on why white gets the advantage, and Bedlam improved on it. His name is ChessJester something, I think.

Also Rahim, be careful, you don't play the KG and I found that this defense is more resilient than it first appears. Although you're right overall, it is quite bad.

O yes, ChessJester. I got confused and thought it was someone else.

I don't play KG as white. I think black equalizes easily against it. I had good results as black facing it but now i'm switching to Sicilian.

Sicilian's awesome. Especially if you choose to play the Dragon. 😀

Then you will have to face another awesome gambit, the Morra (Smith) Gambit.

That one's all yours, Dragonfire. I don't know much about it to be honest.

IDK, but I do know that the Grand Prix Attack is pretty awesome for white. Especially since the resulting positions are so similar to that of the KG.

Awesome might be an overstatement, but it's definitely better than the Smith Morra. Which way do you play, with Bc4, or Bb5? 2. f4 or 2. Nc3 and 3. f4?

Nc3 followed by f4. Bc4 is d6 is played, Bb5 if Nc6 (Or any move aside from d6) is played. Perhaps an overstatement...but still fun 🙂.

As black I prefer seeing the Open Sicilian so that I can play the Dragon, of course...

It sucks so much my results, shown at the beginning of this tread are

Morra Gambit (as white) P27 W20 D4 L3 scoring 81.4%

and before you say, "you can beat a 1300 player with any crap opening" try Game 2381738 then tell me it still sucks!

Your comments apply to any opening. If black knows what he is doing he should achieve equality.

... but at our level black often does not know what he is doing and the statistics seem to point out that black fares comparatively badly against the K G and (in my case anyway) against the Morra Gambit even when rated equal to or slightly better than me.

I often find OTB I come out of both openings better against 2000+ players and only lose when I get out played in the middle game or ending.
