The Holy Spirit's function is to finally reach the INSIDE of man so that God may be LIFE to man inwardly. Those are not just words now. Please read them again - The Holy Spirit's function is to finally REACH man in man's inner being to impart the divine PERSON into man that man may LIVE God.
When Jesus said " I have come that they may have LIFE and may have it abundantly" (John 10:10) He means that He came that we might have GOD within us. This Divine [ZOE] Life of a Person. And He came that this Person might be united with us and mingled with us.
The fallen man is "alientated from the life of God" (Eph 4:18)
The fallen sinner is estranged, alienated not simply from knowing ABOUT God in an objective way. He is alienated from God's very life. He is alienated from the life of God. Christ is that life and came that we might have Himself INWARDLY to live Him, to live through Him, to have Him live through us and to live in an "organic union" with Himself.
He came that the end of this alienation from the life of God and to be the life of the Person God within us:
"The last Adam became a LIFE GIVING SPIRIT" (1 Cor. 15:45) my emphasis.
The religious mind needs revelation. You expect that God would only be an OBJECTIVE God out there, to know ABOUT, perhaps to fear, "obey", and reverance. Why, then you ask, is not the Holy Spirit speaking like the Jesus person ?
The Third of the Triune God is the God REACHING man on the inside to be his divine life - to live a life mingled with God the Father with God the Son.
Is this my invention ? No, it is what the Lord says about the coming of "Another Comforter" the He may be with us forever.
"I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may be with you forever." (John 14:16)
The phrase "another Comforter" indicates that there was already a Comforter and this One is "another Comforter".
But the second Comforter - "another Comforter" is really and in reality the first "Comforter" in another form.
I said that the "another Comforter" is the previous FIRST "Comforter" in another form. There is in reality ONE Comforter coming first to be WITH the disciples objectively on the outside, and then WITHIN the disciples subjectively as their life.
This above paragraph is proved by these words:
" ... that He [another Comforter], that He may be with you forever, [Even] the Spirit of reality, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not know Him or behold [Him]; but you know Him, because He abides with you and shall be in you." (v.16b,17)
Where is this "another Comforter" ? He abides WITH the disciples as the Lord Jesus speaks. But He will abide IN the disciples future to this time of His speaking.
".... you know Him, because He abides with you and shall be in you."
Jesus Christ the Son of God, is saying I abide WITH you now. I will be abiding IN you. Jesus is the first Comforter and the Spirit of reality will be the "another Comforter" . The disciples already know Him. They have been with Him now for three and a half years. He has been abiding WITH them. But He shall, after His resurrection, be abiding in them. They will have an experience that the world at large cannot have.
" ... but you know Him, because He abides WITH you and shall be IN you. I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you." (v.17c,18)
"I will not leave you as orphans; I AM COMING TO YOU." (v.18)
The first Comforter is coming to the disciples as "another Comforter" the Spirit of reality, the Holy Spirit, the life giving Spirit. And He will abide within them to be God as life within them.

I don't agree that the two JWs participating are not intelligent.
I think we need to heed Paul's word that the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men.
I have a thread on Calling O Lord Jesus which I think is about as profound and at the same time simple as I have written anything here.
I should have written it first thing upon coming here a few years ago.

Jn.8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am (He), you will die in your sins."
And what are you trying to say with the next scripture? Are you saying I don't believe that Jesus lived and is still alive as a spirit in heaven and that he's not the messiah?

Why do you keep using that statement that Jesus is the SON of God when you believe he is God himself? Does that really not sink in when you use that term SON? Son- Father means 2 different beings. I am my fathers son but I'm certianly not the same being as my father. Unbelieveable still for me to see this being said by trinatairians and it's like you have no clue wha tthose two words mean.

Apparently not as you seem to be here for only one reason and that's to bash the Witnesses, which fullfills bible prohecy by Jesus himself. It's confusing because of the amount of proof you and others have been shown but when Satan blinds the mind I guess this is to be expected. I find it really sad though....

to make up the One True God. The Father is the first person, the Son is
the second person, and the Holy Spirit is the third person. Of course there
is a lot of things about Christianity that is unbelievable to you. Jesus is God
because He is the only begotten Son of God (the Father). Jesus is also the
son of man because He was begotten by man (the virgin Mary). Jesus,
therefore, is both God and man. This is the only way He could be the
ultimate sacrifice for all of man's sins. Just being a sinless man was not
good enough to atone for all of man's sins, past, present, and future. He
was the sacrifice that put an end to the need for sacrifices, forever. If you
will read the Christian creeds you will see that Christians are not claiming
the Son is the Father. So, get that notion out of your head right now!

In spite of this clear admonition, apostate Christians of the second century took on the trappings of the pagan Roman religion. They moved away from their pure Biblical origins and instead clothed themselves with pagan Roman garb and titles and became imbued with Greek philosophy. Professor Wolfson of Harvard University explains in The Crucible of Christianity that in the second century, there was a great influx into Christianity of “philosophically trained gentiles.” These admired the wisdom of the Greeks and thought they saw similarities between Greek philosophy and teachings of the Scriptures. Wolfson continues: “Sometimes they variously express themselves to the effect that philosophy is God’s special gift to the Greeks by way of human reason as Scripture is to the Jews by way of direct revelation.” He continues: “The Fathers of the Church . . . entered upon their systematic undertaking to show how, behind the homely language in which Scripture likes to express itself, there are hidden the teachings of the philosophers couched in the obscure technical terms coined in their Academy, Lyceum, and Porch [centers for philosophical discussion].”
Such an attitude left the way open for Greek philosophy and terminology to infiltrate Christendom’s teachings, especially in the fields of Trinitarian doctrine and the belief in an immortal soul. As Wolfson states: “The [church] Fathers began to look in the stockpile of philosophic terminology for two good technical terms, of which one would be used as a designation of the reality of the distinctness of each member of the Trinity as an individual and the other would be used as a designation of their underlying common unity.” Yet, they had to admit that “the conception of a triune God is a mystery which cannot be solved by human reason.” In contrast, Paul had clearly recognized the danger of such contamination and ‘perversion of the good news’ when he wrote to the Galatian and Colossian Christians: “Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry you off as his prey through the philosophy [Greek, philoso; phias] and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ.”—Galatians 1:7-9; Colossians 2:8; 1 Corinthians 1:22, 23.
