@ghost-of-a-duke saidSerious isn't it?
The Bible tells us, does it not, that in the end-time most of the world's population will worship the Beast? What then do we make of Rev 14:9-11:
“If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink the wine of God's wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fi ...[text shortened]... y or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”
God's wrath was poured out on Jesus too. Remember what Jesus prayed about in Gethsemane? "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me:"
Same cup. Jesus bore the wrath of God for our sakes so that we won't have to. If you believe.
Fast forward to the new heavens and new earth. Everlasting life. Eternal life is in Christ.
The Word of God is quite straightforward. No need to be confused about what it means by what it says.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
@secondson saidIn addition if it were the last, there would also not be any more mention of the wrath latter as well. Taking one line of text and building a doctrine around it isn't wise you must look at the whole.
Revelation 15:1
And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
That does not say God's wrath is finite. Nothing about God is finite. Everlasting is everlasting.
@secondson saidKellyJay believes that those who do not believe in Jesus are, after their death, "tormented in burning flames for eternity". Have you ever wondered which verses he has "cherry picked" in order to support that belief? Have you ever wondered, with you and him having the same bible, why you and he have such different beliefs on this issue?
Divegeester is just cherry picking. Thinks he knows what one verse means, yet he doesn't know what another means.
@secondson saidSo you agree that many people will suffer in torment in hell? (Due to most of the population of the world worshipping the beast).

Why then, when Dive said, "divine" punishment of being "tormented in burning flames for eternity" did you respond, "But it's not in the Bible."
Clearly the Revelations quote I posted evidences that it is very much in the Bible?
@ghost-of-a-duke saidIt was to FMF I said, "it's not in the Bible", and that was in the context of FMF's insistence on inferring that the God of the Bible is a torturer God.

Apparently you agree though that the Bible does in fact say that those who reject God's salvation will be punished and suffer torment for ever and ever.
Apparently also, divegeester thinks it's all metaphorical, and for some reason he thinks the lost get a light spanking and are annihilated and cease to exist.
And apparently there are some here that think because the Bible teaches that the lost are separated from the life of God forever, and because the Christians posting in this forum believe what the Bible says, that somehow we get some sort of joy and gladness about it. It's as if they think we worship a torturer god.
It's not true. The true Christian's motives are being maligned in this forum.
Ephesians 3:17-19
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Colossians 1:28
Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
No sane human being wants anyone to go to hell.

Im pretty sure the Bible does not say what you said in sentence 1.
In sentence 2 the truth is that many will cease to exist. The wages of sin is death. Many will be destroyed
Part of your problem is that you hold on to the false doctrine that souls are eternal and cannot be destroyed, a myth that Christ overturned.
