I'm talking about those described in the original post, i.e., those whose "core beliefs require them to hold contradictory beliefs", hence the use of the phrase "many Christians".

And yet you cannot tell me which denominations and how many are these "many Christians". 🙄

If your claim is that Christians who hold contradictory beliefs are not being rational, then you can replace Christians with atheists, Muslims, farmers, stock-brokers or politicians.

Why this preoccupation for "denominations" and "how many"? It's irrelevant.

This thread is about Christians who hold contradictory beliefs. If you want to talk about other groups, then start another thread.

How can it be irrelevant that you cannot identify who you're talking about? 🙄

You're obviously not a Christian so where do your obstacles to reason come from?

I have identified who I'm talking about. It just doesn't seem to fit your preconception of what constitutes a viable group. It seems you are arguing just to argue.

Let me try this:

Say someone started a thread about the rationale of athletes who use performing enhancing drugs. The group is identified without having to identify specific sports or teams or the number of individuals. It'd just be a general discussion about those athletes who use performing enhancing drugs.

This is pretty much the same thing.

There are about 500 million Christian Protestants worldwide. Their theology is based on justification by faith only which is not really the doctrine taught by Christ - hence the apparent contradiction. Does that figure help to answer your question?

Actually, the intent of the thread is broader than that, though those who believe that one can to continue to sin and have salvation would be included.

Believing that 'once saved always saved' means that even if you sin you cannot loose your salvation ... so that would include all those of Protestant persuasion plus an indeterminate 'other' group.

I really dont think you know your Bible very well Jaywill. You seem to just regurgitate the garbage fed to you. If you believe in this 'once saved always saved' rubbish, read these passages.

Rom 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

And here we have angels being punished for sinning.

II Pet 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
