And it's a metaphor for complete and permanent destruction and annihilation?
So you say, but the Word doesn’t use the terms you switched out for what was written.

Everyone’s sin is going to be paid for either by the sinners themselves, or by Christ our salvation who became sin for us taking our sins upon Himself. So no evil deed or wicked act thought or word will be left unaccounted for and delt with!
So - despite you claiming that the god figure in your ideology must "take action against evil" or otherwise go against what your ideology says about his nature - you have convinced yourself that no action will be taken against the "evil" that Christians do and no action will be taken against the "evil" that you do ~ because you believe in Jesus. Well, as long you act in a morally sound way while you are alive, I suppose you telling yourself this does no much harm.

And why do you think it's not a metaphor for permanent destruction?

Do you think that when Jesus was metaphorically speaking it was to convey the importance of the points He was making? If so why would you consider an ever lasting lake of burning fire, be any less horrific metaphorically speaking? When language that bad was being used to express the importance of the dying in one’s sins before a Holy God? If that lake represents what is awaiting everyone who dies in their sins, even as a metaphor the reality will not be any less horrible as Hell is described
