Should Christians Have Guns?
The Biblical Basis for the Second Amendment
http://www.libertygunrights.com/ShouldChristiansHaveGuns.html
The surrounding scriptures are speaking of Jesus and his ability to defeat any attacks on us from spirits beings such as satan.
The gentelmans quote:
"Jesus assumed the right of a man to defend him family by the use of his arms in this quotation
from Him in Luke 11:21-22: "When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in
peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him
all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils."
This is farther confirmed at Eph: (Ephesians 6:11) Put on the complete suit of armor from God that YOU may be able to stand firm against the machinations of the Devil.
Again Jesus never taught his followers on any level to fight and to the scriptures clearly say "do not kill".
Jesus's ministry tought us to love our neighbors and he also fullfilled the Mosaic laws which we are no longer under.
This new law does incompass many principles from the Mosaic laws but nothing in the things Jesus taught or by his examples would ever allow a Christian to use a weapon to kill another human.

Originally posted by galveston75Put it this way, gunshot deaths generally make the national news over here. A brief google tells me there were 41 gunshot homicides in England and Wales last year.
So how many have died in the UK where there is this gun control as opposed to the USA with their guns laws, lets say in the last 50 years?
edit - that's 0.07 per 100,000 people, as opposed to 2.97 per 100,000 people in the US last year.
