Hate is easy

Hate is easy

Spirituality

1 edit

Hate is easy, we can lash out, express our rage, express our displeasure, and find fault with every breath, feeding our self-righteousness. While love always comes with a cost, it is giving grace and mercy, which are only required after being inflicted by pain and suffering by someone else. Hate allows one to walk away from someone in need, they are in trouble because they deserve it, while love will act to the benefit of an enemy at cost to one's self.

From Galatians 5

The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

It's always about someone else, isn't it?

Love is always about others and what is best for them.

A provocative statement and food for thought.

Who gets to decide what is best for them?

When you see a need you help them, not because you get anything out of it, including praise. Love doesn’t force itself on anyone!

They say (in general use, 'the aliens' may be substituted for 'they'😉 that pride comes in not recognizing any needs. A proud person doesn't accept their need.
And it's worse than hate, since there's no easing anyone so obstinate - who's shutting down all other ideas. Thus in a sense, hate is the easy manifestation.

What part of no don't you understand?

Well, somebody would have to say 'No' in the first place. As you didnt say 'No' I am unclear about what it is I 'dont understand'. Clarity would be appreciated.
