@Suzianne saidShow me one place I dismiss science, or do you mean that I disagree with you? I can give reasons for what I believe, it follows a logical progression, and where I disagree with others on specifics I can give cause it isn't like I'm dismissing science I don't think the evidence we see and the assumptions some draw shows us what many believe is true. Feel free to show me some science I dismiss if you will!
You sure act and speak like you know, and yet you do dismiss science.
@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidGood, show some.
Science makes abundantly clear that the Earth and universe itself are extremely old. Do you dismiss this?

@KellyJay saidTo clarify, you don't dismiss the overwhelming evidence from science that the Earth is old, you're simply ignorant of it, having emerged last Tuesday from a cave?
Good, show some.
Edit: Sorry Kelly, but the notion of a young Earth is nothing short of idiotic and absolutely is at odds with modern science. You might as well claim the Earth is flat or is held in the heavens on the back of a giant tortoise.

@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidThought so, with overwhelming evidence, you should be able to share something, but instead, you claim I'm ignoring something you cannot highlight as evidence.

I don't argue age, I've made that point over and over, and long periods do absolutely nothing to move the needle towards a highly fine-tuned universe or life from non-living material. Key issues arise with timing, not long periods of time, so claiming I'm pushing a young earth here is not the case and you are simply using that as a means to deflect from your lack of specificity when it comes to showing me how I'm denying science.
Note: denying science would be to reject it as a means to learn the truth about the universe and everything in it. Rejecting someone's conclusions is not denying science, it is rejecting a conclusion. Looking for a better conclusion by reexamining what we do know is still using science, not rejecting it. So this is just one more example of you bringing up something to deflect from the topic.
Strawman's arguments I believe that is what you are doing is called.

Make up your mind. Do you agree with modern science that the Earth is old or don't you? To claim that you 'believe in a young Earth' is absolutely a case of you dismissing/rejecting everything we currently know about the universe and the formation of our planet. Seriously, have you been living under a rock? Do you read nothing outside of the Bible?
Edit: I find these exchanges depressing, that somebody living in the world at this time seriously considers the Earth to be 'young.' - I think you fear science and modern knowledge and are willing to suspend your intelligence to refute it.

@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidIt is the same thing I have been saying since I came back, age is meaningless to the development of both the universe and life. The only time any time could matter is if a possibility to move in a life friendly manner is possible. It doesn’t matter how many billions of years ago it started, if everything is not in place for life at the same moment, in the same place, for even a chance to occur for step one! All of that just for a possibility not life itself, but you think no big deal.

Then when step one occurs, step two is on the clock before things break down. By all means show your science I am denying!
