@sonship saidTry this simple thought experiment. Imagine what the universe would be like if any of those constants were different.
@avalanchethecat
smh.
I can greet my fellow world citizens and speak of these things too.
I wasn't born a Christian.
I can empathize with those who like me once did not have the Spirit of God.
I don't think I need to write more to you about the many voices of intelligent people recognizing the uncanny good fortune against huge odds that the universe is fine ...[text shortened]... erstand it spells trouble for the belief that there is no creating intelligence behind the universe.
The odds that the universe is such that we may exist is 100%. Where's your evidence that it's even possible for our universe to be otherwise?
Lol @ 'spells trouble'. Uh oh...
@kellyjay saidHe sure likes the sound of his own voice! What's your point?
Long but substantive.

@kellyjay saidI watched some. It's an hour and a half though, so I asked what the point you were making was before I decide to commit to watching it all.
Did you watch it?
@avalanchethecat
John Lennox is a mathematician from Cambridge I believe, and an a patient answerer of the objections of new atheists.
I haven't listen to this video. I have heard many others of his talks.
I have read his book "Seven Days That Divide the World".
"patient" as in "able to accept or tolerate delays, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious."
@sonship saidHa ha, 'new' atheists?! Is there a movement?

Also, why did you define 'patient'? I mean, sure, sometimes it's helpful to define terms under discussion, but did you really think I didn't know the generally accepted definition of this one?
@avalanchethecat
New Atheism a movement?
Yea, somewhat. Daniel Dennett one of the so called four horses of the Apocalypse, of the new atheism talks about the new atheists learning to be "the brights".
Look up New Atheist on Google and see if you only get Christian websites.
Wiki on New Atheists.

@sonship saidI'm not really all that interested to be honest.

@sonship saidWell they sound like a movement I'd not want to be associated with.

@avalanchethecat saidThe only person who is familiar with new atheism is Sonship.
Well they sound like a movement I'd not want to be associated with.
@avalanchethecat saidHe hits a lot of different points even one I owe you with names I am unaware of. This is not my attempt at answering you on non-Biblical sources. I have to drive an hour and half back and forth between work and home each way. I get in a lot of lectures, debates, sermons, and an occasional book while driving. I liked this one, nothing beyond that.

I have listened to the whole Bible several times through as well. At first I was complaining about the drive while listening to scripture. About the third time through the OT I was thinking about why they were always complaining and murmuring to God as He was supplying their needs. Then I realized I was complaining and murmuring about my job and the drive that was meeting all of our needs. Now I just count the time in my drive a blessing I attempt to make the most of.
@kellyjay saidOk, well thanks for posting, I may watch a bit more but he wasn't really grabbing me so if there isn't a particular point you want to make I'll admit I probably won't get to the end.
