But if you guys only for a second of your time would stop and think about these comments that the JW's irritate, or bother, or even make you mad for the times we knock on your doors and disrupt your Sunday football game or you BBQ or whatever relaxing venture you may be doing on your day off and give us a brake.
Do any of you for a second think this is easy going up to a strangers door and knowing that 99 out of a 100 times we meet the one behind that door with no results? And out of those 99 at least half aren't friendly and out of those half get rude and half of those get down right ugly and sometimes threaten us "or else"?
Do you even slightly have a clue as to how many dogs have been let loose on us or the police called on us or even just the door slamed in our faces?
Do you have any clue as to how many of us have physical problems that make this such a hard thing to do or the small children that a single Mom has to deal with during this ministry work?
Or for most of us that have a limited income and can't afford the gas in our cars to get us to the areas we are wanting to contact you people that is sometimes many, many miles for our homes?
I absolutely loved these two older and very unhealthy black Sisters in my congregation when I was a teenager who absolutlely could not get up any stairs in the town I grew up in as most of the homes were raised for flooding from storms.
But for over 20 years at least 4 days a week they stood on the street corners offering our magazines to ones whow were interested in the Bible and wanting to know God. They sometimes could hardly stand and finally towards the end of their life's they could only sit.
So why do we do this? Why do we suffer in so many ways at times to mostly get cursed and have dogs let lose on us? Suffer thru heat and rain and cold?
We do this for YOU.
Not only did Jesus tell us too but we want to because the knowledge of God and knowing right from wrong according to God will either get you thru that narrow gate to a better life or the lack of knowledge will lead us to that broad and spacious way to death.
As Robbie quoted yesterday "How will they know unless we teach them"?
And sure you tell us not to come back to your door and we will try not to. But people move, people die and sometimes something happens in ones life that can change their outlook and just maybe you may want to talk the next time. Who knows...but until Jesus tells us to stop doing this, out of love for Jesus and for you, we'll knock on your door. Being rude or being friendly will not stop us from doing this.
Being nice does not mean you agree but it sure makes our day better.

if uninterested. I have never been threatened, only once or twice have people
slammed the door on me in about 16 years of being a witness, once a women
screamed, but i think it was more because she was having a bad hair day, it sure
looked like that. I have never had anyone threaten me with a dog. Once i was
with an elederly sister, Ernestine Karanchie, she was from Ghana in Africa and was
fairly elderly, we were doing student accommodation and there were a lot of stairs,
anyhow, a young women came to the door and when she learned who we were she
took the magazines reluctantly and went inside to her friends and they all started to
snigger and laugh, well, i was incensed, i knocked on the door again and asked for
my magazines back explaining that i would rather give them to someone who might
appreciate them. Even in the roughest parts of Glasgow i have never been
threatened, and believe me there are some rough parts, when people realise who
we are they are fine, but if they think you are a doctor because of our bags they
think we might have drugs on us, so we go with our bags open, so that if they need
a quick inspection they may do so. Once someone thought i was a debt collector
and once the CID (criminal investigation department) LOL

they can advertise these days. There is no need to antagonize your
neighbors or put yourself at risk, etc, anymore. Just stop it. Use common
sense like Christian church organizations do. JW's and the Mormons
are the only ones that require this type of proselytizing.

you, as for the public ministry, you are not qualified to say anything, for you clearly
dont know anything about it, never having engaged in it. As for its success, while your
churches are emptying, we can hardly keep up with the interest in our beautiful
