The fact that I cannot explain what 'swift destruction' is, is irrelevant.
It is very relevant. Otherwise you just quoted a verse of the Bible that you don't understand. Surely it is therefore probable that you don't know what "false prophets" means either. You haven't got a clue what you are saying.

The fact that you cannot explain why the sun is a burning ball of fire does not mean it does not exist.
I fail to see how the analogy fits. Did I make any claims about the sun being a burning ball of fire?

There are many truths in this universe which remain truths whether or not we understand them or believe in them.
I fully agree. But how is that in any way relevant?

Creationist theists are annoying when they stick their nose into a disucssion on the mechanics of evolution.

We are discussing a Bible passage which we assume is true.

I argue vehemently in favour of what Christ said. Nothing else.

umm dont know if you are aware, but umm weve have never ever stated that we are inspired prophets, neither has the watchtower magazine ever claimed to be inspired of God. Was the worship of the apostles of Christ also false because they had some expectations that went unfulfilled, no? (Acts 1:6) well then give it up cause your talking more pants tha e our modern day inception, while the churches of Christendom keep on diminishing, don't you?
Part of this is untrue. The Watchtower did indeed claim to be God's word to man.

perhaps you can state where the watchtower has claimed to be inspired of God, or like your compatriot Raj suffer the indignation of having to eat his own words. Perhaps is just another unsubstantiated and unproven lie, like 'the leaders of the watchtower society are greedy and corrupt', with not one shred of evidence to back up your claim. who can tell?

thankyou Karoly Poly, what is more yeilding than water? yet it comes back again and again with constancy, and may, given time, even penetrate a hard rock with constancy. Be water my friend.

I am being like water-I'm flowing to the lowest point.
🙂
But keep going with the water/elemental analogies all you want.
I reckon you gotta be flexible, (like water/ether), to get your mind around the "greater mind" that some call "God".

So when is the pope due? I might see if I can get a couple of pics via goggle.

(btw the mind of God is more yielding than water but to get that, one must first stop thinking like rock, move into sand, onto water and finally...thats right-PSSSSSSSSSSSpssssssssPSSSSSSSSPssssss-the bliss that is the liberation of the mortal coil😵 )

I realize that you assume the verse to be true. What I am questioning is your interpretation of it. You already admit that you do not understand one of the key phrases in the verse ie "swift destruction", what makes you think you understand the other key phrase "false prophets"?

What was the point of quoting the verse in the first place? What were you trying to say?

It seems to me that you were saying:
1. The JWs are false prophets.
2. According to the Bible false prophets will meet some unknown fate called "swift destruction".
3. therefore JWs will meet an unknown fate.
But what was the purpose of saying that? Were you threatening JWs? Trying to educate them? Trying to scare them?

i love these natural analogies, they are so beautifully simple yet profound at the same time. Had i not become a witness of the most high God i would have definitely tried to become a Shaolin monk 😉 As for the Pope, i still think its just a personality cult, lets hope he has one 🙂

RC said he was going to preach to/teach the Pope the truth. My response was to tell him that the JW doctrine and track record and is not exactly flawless.

Thats the purpose.
