@kingdavid403 saidYes, it's accurate.
[wiki] is not a good reference on this issue. However, it looks fairly accurate from what I know.
@fmf saidYour mumbo jumbo about Jesus, that you do not believe in, is just that, mumbo jumbo from a non-believer in Jesus. What you say is absolutely worthless on this issue.
Yes that's one of the core beliefs of Islam that makes an adherent's claim to be a Muslim valid.
Similarly, one of the core beliefs of Christianity that makes an adherent's claim to be a Christian valid is the belief that Jesus actually lived and actually rose from the dead in an act of atonement for mankind's "sins".
Someone who believes Jesus's life "never actually happened" cannot claim to be a Christian.
@fmf saidNo, you can't. I'm a believer, so I can post on spiritual matters. You are not a believer, so you cannot post anything meaningful on something you do not believe in. Go tell a Muslim you are a non-believer, and then try and tell them what one must believe to be a true Muslim. Good luck. 🙂
Of course I can and so can you. You are not a Muslim and you don't believe in the tenets of the Muslim faith but you just posted something factual about one of the core beliefs of Islam.
@kingdavid403 saidThis is really silly.

- God sent his son Jesus, the messiah, to save mankind.
- They believe that Jesus was crucified and died
- this was in order to offer the forgiveness of sins and the opportunity for what they see as "salvation".
- They believe that Jesus rose from the dead and later ascended to heaven in order to "conquer death".
This is not "mumbo jumbo about Jesus".
@kingdavid403 saidOver the last 30 years, I have talked to many Muslims about their religion and, indeed, about mine when I was still a Christian. There would be no gap between what I say their core beliefs are and what they say their core beliefs are.

@fmf saidNot all Christians, believe all of these beliefs at this time.

They may not be mature Christians; however, as long as they keep truly following Jesus, they will arrive where they need to be in their belief. All thanks to God aka Jesus.

@fmf saidYou were a believing Christian then. That's the key. You now have no belief in God; so your opinion on God and His ways, means absolutely nothing; because you do not believe it.

@kingdavid403 saidPeople can believe anything they want but if they don't share those core beliefs then "Christian" is the wrong label for them.
Not all Christians, believe all of these beliefs at this time.

@kingdavid403 saidThis is very weak reasoning on your part.

@kingdavid403 saidBeing inspired by Jesus and some of the teachings attributed to him, does not make someone a "Christian".
