Followers of Jesus and His teachings are Christians; no matter what the ex-Christian, now atheist FMF believes.
The ex-Christian now atheist FMF thinks that one must fulfill and pass his requirements, for one to be called a Christian. Go figure... lol... Oxy-moron fits him well.
I don't know about you, but my thoughts and beliefs have changed much since I first bec ...[text shortened]... ht or deed before I am able to be called a legitimate Christian is absurd, especially by an atheist.
I agree we must follow the Lord’s teachings but that alone is not enough we need him in our lives.

we need Him in our lives.
Spiritually I agree. And, an atheist or non-believer cannot judge that since they have no belief in the matter. They can only go by the outward physical appearance and make a guess.

I am not pretending to "judge" whether people have "Jesus in their lives", as you well know. My point is that you just cannot pin a valid "Christian" label on people who believe that "Jesus's life, and death, and resurrection never actually happened."

But, as you are aware, I am not "going on outward physical appearance", nor am I "making a guess". I am simply outlining what the core Christian beliefs are.

The logical fallacy you are now using is the straw man.

And, you are no one to decide what core Christian beliefs are, and if they must be believed to become a "legitimate Christian."
You are someone who believes in none of this.

I'm just defending the accurate meaning of the word. Don't forget, you went for several pages on this thread agreeing me.

You misrepresented [to KellyJay] what I have saying and then addressed your false version instead of what I actually said. This is what a straw man logical fallacy is.

I never agreed with you on this issue.
I'll try to make it short.
I first asked Jesus to come into my life at age 15 with NO prior knowledge of Him or the Bible. Other than Christmas songs on the radio and the such.
When I first read the Bible I did NOT believe much of it. I thought it was inaccurate from translations over the thousands of years etc. To be honest, I thought many parts were whacked, especially much of the Old Testament.
Then I believed the Gospels fully but questioned the rest.
Over many years I began to believe the whole New Testament.
Finally, I know that the Bible is 99% without error and I believe every word of it as the Word of God. I also believe there is much more written that came from God; however, that's another issue.
Anyways,
My beliefs about the life, death, and Resurrection of Jesus also greatly progressed.
So, at what point in my progression as a Christian did I become a legitimate Christian?
At what point was I legitimately Saved by Jesus?

I never misrepresented anything. Have Kellyj tell me if he thinks so, then I may look at it liar boy.

I agree, not sure why you added Spiritually, but okay.

not sure why you added Spiritually,
Because us needing Jesus in our lives is a spiritual matter that only a believer can discern.

God.
I see your point. Not much prior knowledge at all. Better?
