No I said religious people ~ at least those who believe in the "afterlife" ~ spend their lives living in denial about death by telling themselves they will live forever on account of the fact that they have imagined it to be so by way of their religious beliefs.
Are you saying you do not believe in an "afterlife"? Well, are you atheist? Which is it?
Do they really "tell themselves they will live forever"? Or do you simply misunderstand them and "tell yourself" that they "tell themselves they will live forever"?

No, it's plainly obvious from what they post, and has been made plainly obvious for all to read in hundreds and hundreds of posts.
Originally posted by SuzianneI am simply listening to what they say of their own volition here on this forum. They talk about their "eternal life", about their "afterlife", about themselves "going to heaven", about their "life after death", about their "indestructible souls", about "a personal relationship with God and eternal life with Him for eternity", about having an "immortal immaterial soul", and about "the immaterial, immortal essence of man". The belief is one of "unending existence" which is synonymous with "immortality" no matter which way you slice it.

sonship, Grampy Bobby, Pudgenik, checkbaiter, KingOnPoint and josephw are all prominent religionist posters who see themselves as immortal because they "believe in Christ". I am sure there are many others too.
You're also sure there are many others, but you don't know. Well I say that's probably a good thing, since you'd probably only attempt to vilify them, too.
How inconvenient you can't tell them apart based on something obvious, like skin color. Should Christians start wearing a yellow cross on the outside of their clothes? Or maybe on RHP they could all be forced to have a little yellow cross next to their names so you can tell them apart from "normal" people.
Oh, yeah, did I mention that I've never heard any of these people say they will live forever? I guess I did.

You're just trying to vilify these people for believing in an "afterlife" when you yourself do not. Isn't that really what this is all about? No one is saying they are going to "live forever".
Originally posted by SuzianneDescribing their religious ideology as being one that gives them certainty in an unending existence in return for belief is not vilifying them.
