It’s hard enough to abstain from sinning with God’s indwelt Holy Spirit because we don’t mind the Spirit n ...[text shortened]... o abstain or even significantly reduce sinning without God’s indwelt Holy Spirit? Can’t be done.
I did not say on one's own. There are plenty of those here who call themselves Christians but believe sexual immorality is not sin.

Is your reference pre- or post-Jesus Christ’s Resurrection?
It is Jesus' own words.

Those who died pre Jesus' death and those who die after Jesus' death are all saved in the same way. They are all children of God.

Back to the same old nonsense, tiger? I thought you turned over a new leaf.

Well we don’t get to define what is and isn’t sin. God does.

I asked because God’s Holy Spirit began to indwell believers after Christ’s Resurrection.

I hope you appreciate that I supported you on your “Who will stand with me?” thread.

If memory serves, the posters who supported you were Heartpence, amigo, Kiddo and myself. Kiddo’s support seemed strangely lukewarm though.

We know what God calls sin from what the Bible says.

Of course non Christians who like to call themselves Christians claim interpretation.

But there are false prophets after Jesus' death as well. Jesus' words were about what would happen in the future after his death.

I think we’re talking about two different things. We started off talking about salvation but now it seems like we’re onto another subject, or am I misunderstanding you?

So you believe those who follow wolves in sheep's clothing are saved?

I think people get saved by John 3:16 and Romans 10:9. Does that mean they’re immune from being duped? I don’t think so.

So you believe that every person who claims to have the holy spirit tells the truth?

Based on your comments, you are duped. If you can't judge a spirit by its fruits then you do not follow Christ's teachings. You believe in false prophets.

John 3:16 doesn't say anything about "every person who claims..."
