Ah, so you do know what I mean 🙂
As I may have mentioned elsewhere, Buddhists don't believe in god, they are essentially atheists but carry on like people of faith.
I guess what I'm saying is that it's not as simple as the black/white approach theists seem to propose. One size does not fit all (as Frank Zappa pointed out many years ago)
Now if you think Jesus isn't the Way that God made for us, than what or who you put your faith in will take you as far as they can. I am sure that there are many who make claims that want you.
Of all ways to God if God has standards than it matters not what we do, it matters what God desires. With Jesus God took all of our guilt from us by Jesus becoming sin, salvation by God's grace through faith in what Jesus did for us.
The best part of being a Christian is God in our lives now not in some by and by.

Any other input?

OK given that immortality has not been attained we have to pass the torch, but what then is the purpose of the following generations?
The purpose of all generations is the continuation of our species.

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
Generations only show us how faithful God is throughout time, and each generation we
see life play out in all variations revealing what is good, and what is not.

No, not really.
