Would it be okay to say everything you believe is between your ears, not reality?

I think 'any' atheist is much closer to reality than you are.
My thoughts about a thing are my thoughts, so that is all me correct, but the object of my thoughts is outside of me and the truth about that is what should concern us. Drink this it is safe, or don't drink it is poison, believing and acting upon the wrong statement could kill us no matter how strong our belief about it was.

How could you being wrong possibly "kill" you?

The problem you have Kelly (which permeates all your posting) is that you think God is the unquestionable truth which we should all accept by default. But I don't accept that.

And you are right. Your thoughts are your thoughts, and that includes the existence of God. So when you say things like 'the object of my thoughts is outside of me' that is merely a continuation of your own thoughts.

Here is an alternative scenario. The universe itself is eternal and has always existed in one form or another. Irrespective of what you or I believe, that is the reality, the truth. - This has 'NO' less credibility than your claim that God is the object outside of yourself. You believe that, but you don't know it, and you certainly haven't proven it.

To be honest, and not intended in an insulting way, but I think your brain is fused on this, and is hard wired to the notion that God's existence is indisputable. Indeed, it has become so cemented in your conscience that you think everyone should accept that as a starting point which stands outside alternative opinions. In reality, you are a finite being with no idea how we got here. Everything you have, and I mean 'everything' is based on personal opinion and belief.

All truth is absolute, if something is true then that object reference will be true at all times and from every point, in order for that to change something about the reference would need to change and then that would now be the truth.

I admit my thoughts about anything are simply my thoughts, but what we are speaking about is reality and the certainty we find there, things worthy of our faith.

You going to respond to the question I put to you or rattle on about your thoughts?

Do you think you are immune to having your thoughts locked into the worldview’s truths you accept?

You could not possibly begin to understand what I see, because you would have to see it with my mind.

You seem to forget that I was a committed and thoughtful Christian for almost three decades.

I have a perspective on your faith that is rooted in experiential knowledge of having had faith and living it and breathing it. It permeated every aspect of my life and my ...[text shortened]... imits their ability to be open-minded about the effect it is having on their intellectual behaviour.
See, you don't see what's in my mind. You are feeling around only in the darkness of your own mind.

What made you think I was a faithful and devoted Christian?

And how could you lose something you never really had? You never had conviction in the true Christian faith, because if you had had it, you would still be there and willing to die for it, rather than renouncing it, retrospectively.

Besides, introspectively, you assumed, and still do, that you were then, and still are now a true intellectual in matters of faith, and science. You are merely fooling yourself by reading intellectual material. But perhaps it's I who is assuming. Have you ever published an intellectual treatise of your own material of thought? And if not, here is your chance to write about your own change of mind, a midlife mental crisis, an apology to faith and science. To science for having been a Christian, and to Christianity for leaving it.

You'll need to point to the question among all the fluff.

Do you accept this absolute truth you speak of could be that the universe is eternal?

I have said clearly I do not have all the answers. It is you alone who speaks on behalf of truth.

Every single truth statement that is in fact true is an absolute truth. Regardless of our opinions, hypotheses, theories, or desires. Would my opinion matter if I was wrong or right about anything if something is actually true?

We use levels to get our lines drawn properly, torque wrench’s to apply proper force these things we trust much more than our feelings.

I accept eternity if that applies to the universe or God, I believe it has to be one or the other.

Asking again about entropy and heat death are you going to respond considering the cow you had when you said I was not answering you?

If you don’t think what you believe is true why speak up at all? Clearly when you disagree you do with some reason, some cause. But you don’t want to subject yourself to criticism finding out you could be wrong? Isn’t putting yourself out there to be examined better than hiding behind “who knows”?

People get called liars here a lot, which means they acknowledge truth because lying is a deviation from it.

Great. So if the truth statements that 'the universe is eternal' and "God does not exist' are absolute truths then anything you say about God is an opinion and an incorrect one at that.

I agree.

The idea that you speak on behalf of absolute truth, as though you alone have some unique insight, permeates most of your posts. Everybody else is just giving opinions but yours relate to an absolute truth than transcends everything else.

You can't have your cake and eat it. - if the truth statements that 'the universe is eternal' and "God does not exist' are absolute truths then anything you say about God is an opinion and an incorrect one at that.

This is 'exactly' the position you take with your own statements of absolute truth.
