Did he? He was still griping and demanding a trade. Here's an article AFTER the season had started: http://nba.suite101.com/article.cfm/fall_2007_nba_trade_rumors
He was mad because Laker management wouldn't trade Bynum as part of a package for Jason Kidd. I'm sure Bynum appreciated that from his team leader.

He didn't come anywhere close to winning in the NCAA "competition".

You are the one who has the difficulty grasping the difference between MVP and Player of the year. Jeez, do I need to hit you over the head with a shovel? That has been the flaming arguement in sports for years why there needs to be two awards. You are arguing player of the year and I am arguing MVP. And yes sunshine, there is a difference. And if you are siding with Player of the Year, then LeBron should also be included in the mix.
I've haven't said a single thing about Player of the Year and my criteria is what player had the most impact on the standings in the league. That's a Most Valuable Player in the LEAGUE. LeBron probably should be Player of the Year, but his team's mediocre record disqualifies him from MVP IMO.

And you know going through all this, STATS don't always mean EVERYTHING. Honestly, who would you rather have on your team, Kobe or Chris Paul? I think I'd rather build my team around Kobe. Sorry but Kobe is more of a threat than Chris Paul is.
Originally posted by JohnLennonForeverHow do you think Kobe gets the ball??? By people PASSING to him, without passers hed have a 5 second violation called on him with every inbounds PASS. Besides, Kobe got rid of Shaq .... he doesnt help build a team he helps get rid of one.
I'd rather have a scorer than a guy who gives up the ball. And Kobe is one of the most if not the most lethal scorer in the league.
Originally posted by 425lsuDuh obviously there have to be passers. But I'd rather have a guy that scores more than he passes rather than have a guy who passes more than he scores. And Kobe is more of a team player now and passing more but he is still one of the most lethal scorers. He is a better overall player.

Originally posted by JohnLennonForeverNo, he is not. CP3 averages over 20 PPG and 11.6 assists per game. He does what he needs to do to get the Win. Of course hes not going to score 81 points but how many times has Kobe had 20+ assists in a game.

Originally posted by 425lsuIf you watch a Lakers game before you would speak you would know that Kobe is more a team player and gets his teammates involved more. But you've probably never watched a regular season Laker game this year and therefore are ignorant of that. But it's ok I'll forgive you for that cause ignorant does not mean stupid it just means you are completely oblivious to the truth. If you watch any analyst talk about Kobe they will all agree that Kobe is having his best TEAM BALL SEASON.
