I REPEAT Kobe is not the only one getting assists on his team. Many of his teammates are having more assists than they've had in seasons past.

Look you can keep repeating over and over and over again how great Kobe is and how lousy every non-Laker is. The fact is Paul's numbers are better in virtually every category. I'm sure you'll come up with some reason why Paul is shooting a higher percentage than Kobe, turning the ball over less, leading the league in steals and assists but Kobe is REALLY better at everything than he is.

It's tiresome BS.

And to prove it, I looked up the stats on assists on nba.com. The next guy who leads in APG for the Hornets only has like 2.4 APG. The Lakers have like 4 or 5 guys who have more assists than the Hornets second highest guy in assists. That right there proves that Kobe is not the only one getting assists on his team whereas Chris Paul is the main guy on the Hornets getting assists.

I NEVER SAID HE WAS BETTER AT EVERYTHING. I said he was a more complete player than everyone and in my opinion that is true. And I never said that anyone who wasn't a Laker was horrible.

That's another good reason why Paul is more deserving of MVP, isn't it?

I'm trying to point out that Kobe would have more assists if he was the only one getting assists. The Lakers as a team average 3 more APG than the Hornets do.

So getting the most assists automatically gets you MVP now? Cause to me I'd rather have a guy who can score than a guy who can get assists.

No, but it helps to lead to league in SOME positive category which Kobe doesn't. In case you missed it (more likely you're trying to ignore it), here's the statistics argument for Paul:

Paul's having a much better year stat wise than Kobe. A 4.6 assist to turnover ratio is sick for a point guard (Kobe's assist to turnover is 1.71). He also leads the league in both assists and steals. He has a much higher FG percentage than Kobe and a slightly higher 3-PT and FT percentage. Kobe has more rebounds but 4.0 rebounds a game for a 6 foot point guard is a lot more impressive than 6.3 rebounds for a 6-6 leaper.

Ok first off don't you think that the fact that Kobe takes ALOT more shots than Chris Paul has anything to do with why Paul has a higher 3 pt and fg percentage. Kobe has taken 411 more shots than Paul has and 167 more 3 pt shots than Paul has. So that might just have a LITTLE bit to do with why he has a higher percentage in both categories.

Why would that have anything to do with it? Do you think you're more or less likely to make any individual shot based on how many other shots you've attempted?? 🙄

And here's another interesting stat. This will only be the 2nd time that Kobe has played all 82 games in his career. And in season(2002-2003) he had slightly better numbers than he does this year.

I think it's a tough call !! Kobe is an assassin no doubt. I can't stand Kobe but no Kobe Lakers would suck!! KG has to be considered dude has always been tough. Celtics would be less without KG. Ray Allen and Pierce are good complementary players both stars in their own right. You have to look at T-Mac and Chris Paul. I'm kinda leaning toward Kobe. That aint easy coming from me. I was always a Sacto Kings fan !! You also have to consider the turn around of the Celtics. However we all know the playoffs is where it all counts anyway. Good argument

Yes, he had better numbers in 2002-03, his team won 50 games and he finished a distant third in the MVP voting. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/spurs/2003-05-03-duncan-mvp_x.htm
