while it's seeming to begin to echo questionable calls since the match began.

Let me correct that for you: ...since the tournament began.

Negative. Spain is by far the better team, and unless Holland gets to disrupt the game by running into or kicking the ankles of the Spaniards and are not punished by the ref, we'll see Spain win 1-0 or 2-1 or more on Sunday.

It's the first final ever which does not involve one of Brazil, Argentina, Italy or Germany. 😲

Indeed:

05/09/1920 (Olympics): Netherlands 1 - Spain 3
30/01/1957 (Friendly match): Spain 5 - Netherlands 1
02/05/1973 (Friendly match): Netherlands 3 - Spain 2
23/01/1980 (Friendly match): Spain 1 - Netherlands 0
16/02/1983 (European Championschip qualification match): Spain 1 - Netherlands 0
16/11/1983 (European Championschip qualification match): Netherlands 2 - Spain 1
21/01/1987 (Friendly match): Spain 1 - Netherlands 1
15/11/2000 (Friendly match): Spain 1 - Netherlands 2
27/03/2002 (Friendly match): Netherlands 1 - Spain 0

So, the Netherlands haven't lost against Spain in 27 years.

The Spanish are hungry for revenge after their embarrassing loss at the Siege of Breda. I think they'll take it in an exciting 0-0 barnburner (win on free throws or whatever).

I cared and watched the match, it was great. Germany deserved 3rd place more than Uruguay did, the game ended on a wonderful note with a trademark Diego Forlan free kick which hit the bar spectacularly - moments before the final whistle. Very entertaining.
