Just admit you made a ridiculous statement in a predictions thread, and we can all move on.

Obviously it's an appropriate response to your knit-picking.
Just admit it, you can't accept that people will talk a certain way. I hope we've all moved on quite a while ago. Go ahead and keep dragging it out though... 😴

Yes it is.
Still South Korea has been disciplined and skillful for years.
South Africa is worse now than South Korea was then.

oh Phil, the same thing will happen as it always does, our friends south of the border shall spend the six months in the run up, telling everyone how great they are, what a great midfield they have, the players to do it, they shall go, get shafted by someone, the players shall cry like wee girlies (remember that pansy Gascoigne), the fans shall riot ...[text shortened]... the front, and become a true Scotsman, and curse the England football team like the rest of us!
As for Beckham , i think he is the most over rated player i have seen in 30 odd years of watching football !
BUT ! some times in football the best teams do not always win , so with that in mind i still have hope !
Pual Gascoigne !!.... " gets the ball ,flicks it over Henrie's head and .Whoof ! its in the back of the Scottish net ...What a goal !!!! " 😏😏😏

So England could actually have it easy up to the semis.
Look at us, if we qualify 2nd behind Brazil, we get Spain, Italy, Argentina and Brazil. 😵

Beckham is quality, and still one of the best crosses, and dead ball specialists in the game.
If I were Fabio Capello, Beckham would be the first name on the squad sheet for South Africa.
He maybe can't do 90 minutes anymore, but as an impact substitute I defy you to think of anyone better you'd rather bring on when we're drawing 0-0 with 20 minutes to go...

If, you have a player like Joe Cole running at you he will drag your defence out of shape and create hard to defend chances . James Milner ,he's the man for me !
I think Beckham is to predictable , to slow, and shouldn't be in the squad !
No disrespect to you my Sheff Utd friend but i would rather see players like Walcott,Defoe ,Cole and Milner ,players with abit of skill !!
One thing though ...At least we are there !!!

Originally posted by trev33I wouldn't take any one of the last 3 mentioned. They usually run somewhere and with each touch worsen their position and finally just give up the ball. Once in a while they do score but as a result of pure luck, not creativity. I don't watch much of the EPL but from what I saw all 3 are like that. Beckham is relatively slow but he's more a threat because he creates 2 - 3 quality chances per game.

The quarter's are the end product with Beckham .
I would certainly take Walcott but not Lennon or Wright Phillips ,James Milner has got to go !!!
Originally posted by infomastwalcott is wasteful and prone to injury, but the other two have their moments. for me lennon is the better of the 3, he has improved quite a bit in the last couple of years. trouble is that england don't have a lot of players who can take on a beat a players, all 3 of them can do so...
