I put election meddling in " " as you seem to be making no distinction between the "meddling" of supporting one candidate over another and the meddling of stealing stuff from a political campaign and then making it public to help a particular candidate win.
Warren used the word "rigged" and she is a democrat. It went beyond mere support.

Good hackers do not get caught. I think you are naive for thinking Russian hackers are that sloppy. You have an incompetence theory that is extremely unlikely. The Russian government is NOT that incompetent.

Fun flashback: When the demorats, bristling with confidence in a Hillary landslide victory, applauded Obama who said publicly, the idea of Russians meddling in the elections was ridiculous.

You your position and I assume millions of other brainwashed trumpites is that the whole thing is just made up BS to get Trump? That the entire intelligence community agreeing there was a Russian attack on the US is all just one big conspiracy theory?

So now then there is no defense left against a real attack on the US? You really think that is what is going on? That OUR intelligence community are all incompetent boobs with nothing better to do than to make up huge lies just to get the worse POTUS in US history?

What planet are you from?

When exactly did Obama say that?

So you think the Russian intelligence community are all incompetent boobs with nothing better to do than hire incompetent hackers that cannot cover their tracks like other hackers?

It makes "someone at the Journalist" look rather desperate. There's no reasonable world where an ongoing investigation that has already led to dozens of indictments is a "large failure."
Dozens of indictments on utterly unrelated charges -- many of them are stuff related to providing false or contraditory testimony, or financial or "lobbying" charges that it is likely that plenty of other people would be potentially guilty of if not investigated.

Do you dispute any of that?

Funny, I didn't see anything about Russians not being able to meddle in our elections. Obama was talking about actual rigging of the vote totals.

Some of the charges are related to giving false statements about contacts between Trump campaign or transition officials and Russians. That's pretty directly related.

The Manafort charges are related to his work for a Russian-backed government. The judges have found that is related as well.

There are charges against specific Russians for violating various US laws in attempting to get Donald Trump elected President. That's directly related.

So you are wrong; none are "utterly unrelated" no matter how many times FoxNews and the right wing blogosphere tells you so.

October 2016: At Obama's direction, former Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper issue a public statement saying, “The U.S. intelligence community is confident that the Russian government directed the recent compromises of e-mails from U.S. persons and institutions, including from U.S. political organizations. We believe, based on the scope and sensitivity of these efforts, that only Russia’s senior-most officials could have authorized these activities.”
Obama also attributes the hack of John Podesta's emails to Russia.

Not seeing the "the idea of Russians meddling in the elections was ridiculous" part.

You think American intelligence is a room full of boobs? And the mighty Russians are ten times better than anything the US has to offer? I am just glad you are not on our team. You are on Russia's team.

I'm saying neither side is incompetent. Why do you think one side is?

The evidence shows clearly Russians were doing it the easy way by spoofing and they got away with it without fancy crypto software. What part of THAT do you not understand?

And I suppose today's disgraceful summit where Trump just caves in to Putin, not even ASKING about Ukraine, the downed plane, the poisonings, and about the Mueller probe just saying well Putin denies it, all I can do is ask the question, like totally denying he has the power to really hurt Russia where it counts, financially with more sanctions, that was not even on the table.
When the indictments were brought up by reporters Trump just goes on yet another tirade about the 'missing emails' and ignoring the actual question.

You can take it to the bank there are planeloads of Russian oligarchs popping corks and passing around champaign.

You still figure Trump is the greatest thing since air conditioners?

It took a well-funded team of investigators, having access to all the technology for counter-cyberterrorism money can buy, almost two years to gather enough evidence for indictments. Seems to me the Russians knew what they were doing.
