I've started several threads here regarding the attack on the USS Liberty and have researched it for decades. My conclusions are as follows:
1) The claim by the Israelis that there was no flag flying on the Liberty is unbelievable. Anyone who has ever served in the US Navy knows that they do not operate without a large and visible flag flying.
2) The reasons given for the Israelis to deliberately attack the Liberty make no sense. By June 9, 1967, the Egyptian army was smashed; there was no need to try to get the US in on Israel's side.
3) So the most logical hypothesis is that the Israelis saw the flag and perhaps the hull markings, but thought they were a ruse by the Egyptians and that the ship was an enemy warship. Granted, they took very little care in determining the actual identity of the ship and were palpably negligent.
I believe that is the most reasonable explanation that accounts for all the known facts (Occam's Razor in action).

The irony is that you are dismissing a false flag event based on the allegation Egypt was flying a false flag. And it was an unarmed ship. It had no defensive capabilities and was a sitting duck. At the very least you should consider the possibility the Israel did not like the USA spying on their communications. Instead you have caved into the "no motive" absurdity. The Suez canal is an important asset to a world military power. The USA only gives more money to Israel than Egypt. It is a bribe to have priority access to the Suez canal when it is needed for the navy. Invading and controlling Egypt would be in the interest of any world empire. You are quite naive in this area I think.
