@kevcvs57 saidBusiness deals with China and Ukrania that laptop had a lot of information on it, and those that had access to that site is a matter record as well. Trump's tax returns have been turned in and gone over, it is about time Biden's were too.
What nations and what millions? Do you mean the millions and sordid photos that Trump traded US foreign policy and a cache of intel documents to the Rus for?
This is definitely apples and oranges in terms on intent and transparency but both are in the wrong on the point of mishandling state documents. The biggest culprit is probably the auditing system, or lack of one, that allows classified documents to disappear into the long grass.
@wildgrass saidI posted an entire article that compares and contrasts the Biden and Trump document debacle. First of all, everyone agrees that removing classified documents from their secure and authorized location is wrong. I am guessing Biden just sank his bid to run again. However, like murder, there are degrees of wrongdoing. If you kill someone and there was no intent to harm, it was due to negligence, you might not even be arrested, unless you were inebriated. Intent to kill is part of all three degrees of murder. Intent is the difference between Trump and Biden. Trump clearly intended to take documents. Biden was careless, negligent. Biden's lawyers immediately turned documents over to the proper authorities. Trump attempted to keep documents and he may be charged with obstruction of justice.
Did we decide whether it's ok to remove classified documents or not? Or is this whole thread partisan hackery? Its ok for one political to do it but not the other? Trying to parse minute details that distinguish the two incidents and make it ok for trumpo to do it but not Biden?
Clearly, Congress needs to clarify and enforce the proper handling of classified documents. It appears that our government has made it very easy for spies to access sensitive information. We can only guess at how many classified documents are stashed in other people's garages, basements or the kitchen junk drawer or easily accessible congressional offices.
If that article seems too long and/or difficult for you to read, perhaps you should remove yourself from this forum and the voting poles and stick to commenting on spectator sports.
@averagejoe1 saidTrump clearly refused to hand over classified documents,claiming they were his personal property, declassified in his sleep. Biden claimed negligence with no intent to take or keep the documents. There appears to be no reason to raid Biden's homes. However, the FBI might decide to do so because the GOP has viciously attacked the organization. "Intent" is a key word in this discussion.
I'm treating this story like Jan 6 hearing. Let me know when you all find out everything!! Reams of papers and opinions are full of this, it is prob 50/50. Some libs here, for example, think Biden has done no wrong, when, of course, he most certainly has.
Is anyone puzzled that FBI has not raided his house? What in the world?? But, at Mara Lago, .....oh, never mind.
@averagejoe1 saidThe NY Post is right wing as is the Government Integrity Project at the Virginia-based National Legal and Policy Center. I do not trust information from either source. Also, by definition, "dark money" means you do not know where it's come from. You can try to guess or make biased assumptions. The GOP loves dark money. It's why they have no intention of taking down the SCOTUS Citizens' United (2010) decision which opened the flood gates for dark money.

Your man/boy is in trouble. Not about just the files,,,,,do you know of the millions from China? Jesus
@phranny saidThing is whenever the Post and the Times cover the same thing, it's the Post that is correct and the left-wing bias of the Times is revealed.

@phranny saidDo you think that people on both sides left and right are not posting things as they see them, and as such should both sides be looked at with the same level of scrutiny since from time to time our guys (whoever they are, and theirs who ever they are) can get it right or wrong? So what where the stories come from if true, that not who is the more important point.

@kellyjay saidHahaha yeah sure.

Biden will have turned over his tax records like every other potus for decades except trump.
Don’t you have any Qanon theories for us.
@kellyjay saidSo you’re suggesting that far right conspiracy theories that posters bring here should be given equal weight and consideration as actual reality?

You probably believe that Trump won the 2020 election
What’s most amazing about this whole debacle, hilarious debacle, is how many top secret bloody documents are seemingly scattered around all over.
I mean, trump had hundreds stashed away on a golf resort (just think about that for 10 seconds and your mind starts melting), Biden in a bloody garage…
How the hell is it possible???
Presidents, vice-presidents… all sorts of folks just “borrowing” top secret documents and leaving them all over the place?!?!
What sort of cartoon clown comedy show are you Americans running over there?
God damn. If it wasn’t so funny, it would be worrying.
@shavixmir
I have this funny feeling, I don't know, just came over me, MAYBE now that this is all out, spies are dancing a jig right now, since they already have all the upper types on their file list they would know exactly where to send their soldiers to sneak around inside.
@kellyjay saidOh I just noticed you used the Russian term for Ukraine Hahaha

Of course a hard right undemocratic regime aligned with an extreme orthodox Christian church would seem like nirvana to you kellyjay.
@phranny saidBut was not Trump careless, himself?....since he didn't have them securely located? Y'all could ramble all day about this, defending your Biden, your adminsitration, your scurrilous government, but you will not address the fact that the FBI has not raided Biden's home. Why do you not address this? Geez.

@shavixmir saidThe grifter, Hunter, lived there. So, one day, he goes out and sifts through the files. Finds something that China would pay millions for. Rides on his daddy's plane to China, and then.........y'all finish the story.

Worrying indeed, Shav. There is a joke going around, Hunter was told to throw the files in the trash, and the gun in the garage, and got it backwards.
@averagejoe1 saidTrump claimed he had the right to have the documents and keep them any way he wanted. He claimed they were his private property. Biden is claiming he was neglectful and did not mean to possess the material. Do you not see the difference????
