Some humans are violent. Period. It's an unsolvable problem.
You could, however, ask the question: "Why are they violent"? and see if you can remove the causes.
Also, say there is more violence now than 15 years ago, that means something must have changed to make it so. Surely a bit of research into that can't be wrong?
An unsolvable problem isn't a problem, it's a fact.

Well, capital punishment doesn't reduce crime. That's a proven statistic.
Jailing people for not paying their poll tax isn't exactly a creative solution to anything either.
I think various trends add to violence:
- poverty
- bad role-models within a family (including a lack of a role-model)
- destroying creativity (including stifling it or not pr ...[text shortened]... asking questions:

According to Roy D. Adler and Micheal Summers, research shows that each execution carried out is correlated with about 74 fewer murders the following year:

Do you recommend eugenics?

Well, there are more people now than 15 years ago. But yes, levels of violence do vary based on environmental factors.

Cool. Then there's no violence problem.

[b]This is a serious question, what is happening in the streets of the UK? The youth are running riot, knife and gun crime is on the increase, rape and sexual assaults abound and the hands of the police are tied, if they try to crack down on crime then they get attacked by gangs as in Manchester last week.
Anyhew, here in the States we don't get crime reports from the UK. Is it really getting that bad?
Originally posted by AThousandYoungAnd what are the majority of crimes in LA related to? Are they not related to gangs? I think organized crime on average tends to be much more violent in nature than people going it alone, but I may be wrong about that. It's just a guess.
The crime in Los Angeles drives me nuts. I don't think there is an answer.
I heard that the worst gangs and most violent gangs are coming from Mexico and into the states. From what I hear they bring a whole new definition to the term violent. Therefore, I would have to conclude that much of this violence is simply fostered by various groups and passed down to various people. It would then stand to reason that these groups must be targeted in some way or another.
