More people get shot in USA than Europe, people in Europe feel more secure in their homes (and wouldn't consider storing a weapon). Therefo ...[text shortened]... ake the gun out of society and increase the populations security physically and pyschologically.
Psychologically is the key.

Did it ever occur to you that being "safe" is not a good way to make advancements in civilization?

It ain't.

I pitty your family if that's the best you can do.

Its interesting that Canadas Gun control laws isnt working, their crime rate is rapidly increasing while the USA's are decreasing.

http://www.spruce.ca/gunctrl.htm

Would it be safer for everyone in the USA to carry a Gun? or would it be safer for just the illegals to carry a gun?

If a crook knew that a whole City didnt have one gun, he could go on a rampage, and probaly kill alot of ppl, On the other hand, if he knew everyone had a gun, most likely he wont get far.

Violence is inevitable.

I do think that we will look back on these times as "idylic" and "simple".

We have entered a new age of terror. A truck with a fan blowing "mouse pox" virus is about as hard to do as to build a paper mache volcano for fouth grade science class.

That kills about 2.5 million people in London or Paris or Berlin or Moscow or NYC or...

That is thinking small isn't it. The same attack isn't limited to those cities or to the next "five years". If you are a fanatical zealot, what matter if it takes 20 years? It is an easy thing to do. So. Fifty years from now, all people will be "armed" and "packin" but it won't help that much.

The only real hope we have is technology. Medicine. Knowledge.

Will we do it? Or spend all our money and effort protecting a few airplanes and a few thousand people?

I will bet that we are not as smart as Bin Laden. I think he is doing exactly what I sketch above. We'll see. But we'll be really miserable in the damned airport lines while we wait.

<edit> I don't feel bad releasing this. I was the one who submitted it to the damned government along with 50 other "dooms day" scenarios in the months following 911. They published the list on the Hawaii state govt. web site last week. Stupid bastards.

Perp breaks into your house, wo ...[text shortened]... defend yourself. You'll win, of course, but the average cost is $20,000 for your legal defense.
Not in Texas. It wouldn't even make it to court.

Slim,

You better think again.

As much as I don't want to agree with delmer,

You are thinking legal and lawful.

The current system of "civil" court has nothing to do with the law.

That is why republicans are pushing for "tort reform", much to the chigrin of marauders everywhere.

In "civil" court... all it takes is a damned lawyer and you have to defend yourself because there are no "legal" issues involved. Only "social" issues are involved. That is why it is called "civil action" not "legal action".

The point is... he is right. Even in Texas. Do research if you don't believe me. One scummy lawyer and a murderer can ruin any good family.

That's the way it goes.

You are just too stupid to recognize that you are a coward. You have given away your right to defend yourself and your family to a propaganda "brain washing".

If you can't or won't defend your family... who will?

Nobody.

What a dick head.

How are they gonna do that? In Texas they don't even garnish your wages unless it for child support. I know of two individuals who had to resort to protecting their property and nothing happened to them. In Texas you can even shoot someone trying to take your car as long as it is nighttime. Thats why they don't reposses cars in Texas at night.

I was responding to the "dick head" comment actually. I have considered owning a gun in the home to defend my family and myself.

I just don't like negative/imature attitudes like yours.
(example: calling people "dickhead !" "poopy head", "smelly head", or whatever you may come up with next.)

Civil Court.

You have a lot to learn about the "justice" system.

Let me help.

Think about money.

Then think about lawyers.

Then think about 'laws'.

What you do is invent a system that has nothing to do with "criminal" law.

It's called "civil" law. It is for lawyers to make big money. Think John Edwards... Kerrys running mate. He made 30 million dollars in civil court convincing juries that MS is caused by "careless doctors".

Ok. Think about it. Who makes the laws? Well elected people. Does it bother you that 90% of these "elected" people are 'lawyers'?

It should.

Because what they have done is create a system that nobody can even compare to "justice".

You have a lawyer -- called a "judge" setting before two of his peers. We call this "civil court".

They go out to lunch. They laugh together. They belong to the same union. It's call the American Bar Association.

They don't give a crap about justice. It's all about the money.

Didn't you know that OJ lost in civil court so moved to Florida? Where the lawyers have set up a scheme to protect rich, crooked lawyers and other rich people from civil law?

That is fitting. See Florida trying to steal the 2000 election.

Like it or not. Florida is the only state in the union that gives free ride to murderers from "civil" judgements.

Do you know the reasoning?

I'll leave that to you to discover. (Hint. It has a lot to do with the mob and the moneys it took to build Key West and the national railroad to that silly place. In escape mode from prosecutions of the murderous kind.)

Ok

I envy your bliss.

I'll leave it to you to fill in the blanks. Though I really doubt you can.

"_ _ nor _ _ ce is bliss"

Have a ball. Just don't ever buy any insurance of any kind. that is the first thing the marauders check for before deciding to pursue "justice".

Don't get me wrong... a few "exceptional" marauders might actually then follow up with a "net worth" report before suing. Rare. But it might happen. The lazy turds are not usually able to think beyond "insurance".

Justice is spelled a bit differently in the world of lawyers. It is spelled
J U S T U S

Just us. We rule the world.
