This is the reason why many knowledgeable Muslims, Imams, clerics and others who understand Judaism are careful about interfering with Israel. It is the reason why Palestinians are not happy with the level of support from some of their Arab neighbours. Here it is, just one of many in the bible:

I am going to gather the people from all the countries where I have scattered them in my anger and fury, and I am going to bring them back to this place and let them live here in safety. Then they will be my people, and I will be their God. I will give them a single purpose in life: to honor me for all time, for their own good and the good of their descendants. I will make an eternal covenant with them. I will never stop doing good things for them, and I will make them fear me with all their heart, so that they will never turn away from me. I will take pleasure in doing good things for them, and I will establish them permanently in this land. "Just as I have brought this disaster on these people, so I am going to give them all the good things that I have promised. The people are saying that this land will be like a desert where neither people nor animals live, and that it will be given over to the Babylonians. But fields will once again be bought in this land. People will buy them, and the deeds will be signed, sealed, and witnessed. This will take place in the territory of Benjamin, in the villages around Jerusalem, in the towns of Judah, and in the towns in the hill country, in the foothills, and in southern Judah. I will restore the people to their land. I, the LORD, have spoken." (Jeremiah 32:37-44 GNB)

The East Jerusalem issue in Sheikh Jarrah is one of property ownership vs squatters rights. One owns and another lives on, the controversial land.

Here the bible accurately predicts
- the return of the Jews
- their ownership of the land ,,permanently
- living in safety
- their prosperity in a land people called desert
- their purchasing and owing the land around Jerusalem.

Smart Muslims steer clear of these people, because as far as they are concerned if you fight the Jews you are fighting God.

To those itching to reply and condemn this post, before you do that ask yourself how has it worked out in the last 70 yrs of the Palestinians fighting the Jews?
Have they had any success?
Have the 100s of billions of $$$ they spent in the last 70 years been well spent?
Have they developed their own land in the last 70 yrs?

What a crock of 💩.

First of all, no Islamic clerk or whatever is careful about interfering with Israel, with perhaps the exception of being scared of being nuked by them or their US cousins.

Think, for example, to all the Islamic dominators Israel has had over the centuries.

Second of all, there is no God. It’s a human mental construct. A fairytale.
The old testament has nothing to do with the human race, it’s an embellished history of one group of people: the Hebrews. Nothing more, nothing less.

I have proof, what proof do you have. Spare me the emotional outburst.

Really ?

Some Muslim clerics such as Abdul Hadi Palazzi of the Italian Muslim Assembly and author Muhammad Al-Hussaini believe that the return of the Jews to the Holy Land as well as the establishment of an Israeli state is in accordance with teachings of Islam. Of the community of Muslims that support Israel, a portion designate themselves as Muslim Zionists. Prominent people of Muslim background who publicly support the movement of Zionism include ex-Muslim Afghan journalist Nemat Sadat, Pakistani former radical Islamist Ed Husain, Egyptian former militant-turned-author Tawfik Hamid, Pakistani American author and journalist Tashbih Sayyed, and Bangladeshi journalist Salah Choudhury. Additional Muslim figures who have who have publicly voiced support for Israel include Salim Mansur, Abdurrahman Wahid, Mithal al-Alusi, Kasim Hafeez, Abdullah Saad Al-Hadlaq, Zuhdi Jasser, and Khaleel Mohammed.

I haven't really read the bible other than my early childhood.......

But if there is ever a paragraph that that entrenches my lack of use for religion, the paragraph you provided would be a leading candidate.
The notion that someone, or some outdated book, tells me that I belong to some God that I don't really believe exists.
And further, that I should fear such a God, and worship that God ??
And in the absence of a reply directly to me from that God, that another person organization consisting of other people, can step in and claim that authority over the masses, in the name of God ?????

Well ........... you guys already know where I stand.
Organized religion is just another form of authoritarianism.

If people want freedom of religion, fine, you can have it. They have the right to worship.
But for me, freedom of religion also means freedom from religion.

I think you missed the essence of the opening post [my fault]. Not interested in discussing peoples rights, or lack or it, regarding religion. Neither is it about what you, or me for that matter, believe about God and religion.

The topic is simply that there are Muslims who believe that the Jews are entitled to live in the Land of Palestine [in a separate Jewish state] because as far as they are concerned this belief is supported in Islam. As a result of this [whether or not you think so is irrelevant], they refuse to support the Palestinians in their cause.

The issue is the State of israel is now over 70 years. What progress has Palestinians made? At what point will there be a realisation that the prophesies in the Bible and the statements in Islam, are true?

Perhaps you’ve never heard of a ‘Self fulfilling prophecy’ it’s quite common in the real world though.

This thread belongs in Spirituality as would a thread describing Jews who are non-Zionists.

Wrong. This is a valid current affairs topic.

Really? How does that work. Heard of it, but never came across some hard evidence that it happens and in a situation like that one under discussion.

I merely commented on the paragraph.
You should expect to get a wide range of comments.
I suppose one could comment that the never-ending conflicts that have been going on for centuries in the region can be traced to one root cause.
Religion.

Lol you just gave an example of one.
Imaginary being says the Jews will return to Zion so the Jews ( who believe in the imaginary being ) return to Zion supported by evangelical Christians ( who also believe in the same imaginary being ) and thus the prophecy fulfils itself.

Religion.
OF course, and this is the reason why you cannot easily discount or remove the influence of religious beliefs on how people act in this region. Hamas appears to be motivated by what they see in the Koran. Other Muslims are influenced by what they also see in the Koran and from hadiths handed down. The Jews are influenced by waht they read in the Torah, and Christians who read the prophecies just wait and see. Its all religion.

In this case Im trying to focus on Muslims supporting the Jews because of what their religion Islam says. Also the fulfilment of the prophecies in both Judaism and Islam, make their beliefs credible.
