@no1marauder saidI already did you liar!
GFY. You "proved" nothing.
Give me a cite where she says she intends to introduce nationwide rent controls.
I'll wait.
Make a bet with me or shut up!

Here's the economic proposals she unveiled: https://wisconsinexaminer.com/2024/08/18/harris-unveils-plan-to-curb-price-gouging-boost-child-tax-credit-tackle-rent-hikes/
Find me that national rent control you say she proposed.
I'll wait.
@no1marauder saidIt says right in the title of that article "tackle rent hikes".

How is she going to do that without price control?
@shavixmir saidA person lives beyond their means when they 'take on' more expense than they can pay for. That is a pretty simple given. First, there is absolutely NO way to look to factory to correct this man's mistakes. You guys do not think things through. Factory pays him more, so......the other employees increase their expense, come knocking on the boss's door, sue him, he closes down, and that's that.
The problem you wrote yourself:
Say $25 is enough for a single person to live on, what about a family of 4?
Most countries live off a working week of about 38 - 42 hours a week. And studies show that working more is detremental to health and family. So, let’s take $25 an hour and a 40 hour week = enough for a single person.
Your solution is: to not let the factory so ...[text shortened]... heir chosen lifestyles.
Come on. Use yer big capitalist brain and give us some of your solutions!
There is only ONE solution, and , you guessed it, the Government will be asked by you and Kamala to pay for his poor planning. So I would enjoy such a discussion, but as it is impossible for me to come up with ANY way that that could happen, I respectfully put the ball back in your court, to construct a govt solution that you might have me and the forum write about. A starting place. You know how livid I am about paying tuition loans with taxes, so I could not even consider that. I cannot imagine anyone justifying that.
So what govt move could make it so that a man could support his family doing the same job as a single guy is doing? I would think have govt programs that we could agree on. What government programs? Present ones, or new ones? Paid for with our tax money? Would losers hear about those programs and have more children to get more of that money?
@KellyJay saidYou conveniently only use the "large ship at sea" analogy when explaining away bad records of Republicans.
The American economy behaves much like a large ship at sea, like the Titanic it moves slowly as it changes directions. As it was moving to recovery due to economic strategies in place due to the corrections made to lower energy and other restrictions (the cost of a gallon of gas then and now), an election occurred.
The economy was already starting to recover (the price o ...[text shortened]... activity for tax and fairness policies, according to what they think those things should look like.
Where's the large ship at sea that was doing great when trump arrived in office? While the large ship kinda kept moving in the same direction except one thing. The deficit was $600 billion and the most quantifiable thing trump did before COVID was doubling the deficit spending.
Where's the large ship at sea that took a long time to correct after trump left office spending his way out of a crisis and creating inflation and debt?
@Metal-Brain saidRead the article.

By decreasing rental demand by encouraging home buying and increasing supply by measures designed to lead to more competition. Standard "liberal" ideas to "fix" negative results of capitalism.
@no1marauder saidYou are claiming there is a lack of competition. How do you know that is the problem? Is there a housing shortage?
Read the article.

In capitalism supply is supposed to meet demand unless there is a monopoly or some sort of anti competitive practice. Can you prove such conspiring? If not, how is any of that going to lower rent prices? Is government going into the housing/rent business?
Not that I think prison slavery Kamala will follow through with any of those promises. She has an Irish slave owner ancestor who fought against abolition.
@wildgrass saidI used large ship at sea due to the monolithic size of the US economy. Your disliking what I said has more to do with politics.

@KellyJay saidI don't dislike the analogy. I only dislike your selective use of it to defend trump. Inflationary pressure on the large ship was caused by trump.

Government spent an absurd amount of money while Trump was president, which obviously caused inflation.
@wildgrass saidIt happened during more than one Presidential election. Your hate for Trump doesn’t change the facts on the ground.

@AverageJoe1 saidI’ve already given you 4 different solutions.

@wildgrass saidWhat I described pay attention. It is not a political party argument it’s reality.
What happened more than once?
