define victory. that is the real issue at hand. the current administration has no plan for victory, the troops have no clear objectives, and Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11...moron.

What if a robber came to your house one day and took all your money? Would you want to fight back or keep him away?
He sees you don't seem to retaliate in self defense. So next day he comes and kills your wife and takes your kids. Would you fight back - take measures to assure it stops!?
If not, he could keep coming. That's what the USA won't stand for.
so this went on, masses of people got killed and tortured with no help in sight. after years and years, the people started fighting their houses with sticks and stones, which was about the same as a mosquito fighting against a lion. nevertheless, they had no other choice than keep stinging so they did.
then, one day one of the houses stopped doing what your house wanted. that didn't go down well, there was huge profits and influence over future profits at stake, so your house was more than annoyed about this demonstration of sovereignity. "what the hell," your house cried in anger, "we helped that dictator into power!" but there was nothing to do really. but luckily, there was another guy in a second country, who had been armed and trained by your house, but had turned against your house after observing years of general abuse over the whole region by your country. he's the one who got called 'robber'. he decided it was time to sting the source of the weapons in a desperate attempt to fight your giant house with sticks and stones. so they threw a rock. and for some strange and unfortunate set of circumstances, their rock didn't just break a window like they hoped, but actually brought a whole building down. wow, big oops. "house angry, rrraaah! house smash!" echoed throughout all the media your house owned or had influence over. all the people fighting those faraway houses with sticks & stones got labeled as 'robbers', which went down pretty nicely as most of the people in your house never really had any access to any media that wasn't owned or influenced by your house.
now, what happened next was pretty incredible: instead of attacking the house of the guy who threw the rock, your house decided to attack the neighbouring house with the dictator, to show everybody what happens to puppets who cut their strings. hundreds of thousands of civilians died, a couple of thousand soldiers, and eventually even the puppet dictator. but once you set a house on fire, it won't extinguish just because a puppet gets hanged, and the fire rages on and on.
the house next door, the one from where the robbers who threw the rock were, was never attacked and lived happily ever after. the people in the dictator's house keep killing your people and each other. your house keeps selling weapons to other similar regions like the somalia/ethiopia/eritrea proxy war with no intention to stop. I just wonder how long it takes for somebody there to throw a rock at your direction. and your house will respond "oh, we like totally didn't see that one coming! house smash! rrraaaah!" and the cycle starts again...
