Autumn souls (poem)

We meet up after work as agreed.
We meet by the steady ol' oak.
A tender kiss and a smile combine,
under cloud scattered skies.

And after we've walked the leaf padded, meandering road,
hand in hand through chill struck air.
Beams of light, touched by red and yellow,
fall through nature's daywise thinning coat.

And after we've walked through the rising darkness,
where air is filled in afternoon traffic;
where scent of food accompany us,
from city restaurants left behind.

And after we've walked by the empty playground
now hiding in growing shadows.
For the dying sun now leaving it's final traces,
warm and wise, all-knowing and all-caring.

And after we've walked by the shimmering pond,
ripples of clear water greeting evening wind,
inspiring moon and street lamp light to a dance,
guarding the treasure of day 'til sunlight return.

And after we've reached our doorstep,
our cheeks coloured in autumn chill,
our hearts filled with this ancient song.
Now that this autumn sunset is over,

fireside companionship
await
our
autumn
saturated
souls.

This one's best enjoyed to Rod Stewart's: I don't want to talk about it
(for the character of the tune perfectly matches the mood I'm trying to
set). It's also a good idea if you print it out, put on a coat and walk out
into the autumn air, sit down with a glass of something mildly alcoholic
on a bench somewhere where the evening sun is still warm and loving.

Or you can just read it as it is and start your bantering on my poor
quality poetry. Either way, I feel I've said pretty much all I want to say
here. I bid you all farewell for now, and promise (annoying as it may be
to some) that I'll be back sometime in the future. 'Til then, you should
all just enjoy the shimmering, artificial lights dancing in the pond.

Nae, just kidding. I'm here to pester your existence like forever! πŸ˜€

Thank you, qween. πŸ™‚

And you're right about the offer. Not half bad. Not half bad, at all. I so wish I
lived closer to the states right now, so I could find out. Well, not in the
states, but closer. Like... mid-Atlantic, or some'. πŸ˜•

Now, there's a poem. πŸ™„

Corn Holes (poem)

We meet up after work as agreed.
We meet by the steady ol' oak.
A tender kiss and a smile combine,
forbidden love between two guys.

And after we've walked the leaf padded, meandering road,
in assless chaps, our buttocks bare.
Beams of light, touched by red and yellow,
fall through nature's daywise thinning coat.

And after we've walked through the rising darkness,
where air is filled in afternoon traffic;
where scents of lube accompany us,
from city bathhouses left behind.

And after we've walked by the empty playground
AThousandYoung hiding in growing shadows.
For the dying sun now leaving it's final traces,
warm and wise, all-knowing and all-caring.

And after we've drawn our manly wands,
ripples of flesh greet breaking wind,
inspiring moon and street lamp light to a dance,
guarding the treasure of day 'til sunlight return.

And after we've reached our doorstep,
our cheeks coloured in autumn chill,
our bottoms filled with ancient code.
Now that this autumn sunset is over,

fireside companionship
await
our
saturated
corn
holes.

Splendid re-working - it certainly outstrips the original...

is there nothing that passes through here that you can't taint with your sickness? nothing that you can't crap all over to reduce to your own "beavis and butthead" level?
