You should become a full-time poet, man. Although, the rhythm could be approved a little. How's this?

We meet up after work as agreed.
We meet by the steady ol' oak.
A tender kiss and a smile combine,
below the cloud scattered skies.

And after the leaf padded, meandering road,
hand in ...[text shortened]... wait our
autumn
saturated
souls

I am proud that I made you waste 20 minutes of your life to find that.

20 minutes you will never get back.

Yes, that is precisely what I did during those twenty minutes.

As much as this comment amused me, if I may be serious a little? I'm
sure you know I'm a programmer by trade, and I'm also sure you've
heard about open-source. I'm a big fan of that. And I like the fact that
it's spread into fields of artistic expression as well. (Or did it spread from
there to programming? I'm not sure. By the very definition, poetr ...[text shortened]... arism,
so forgive me taking the opportunity to rant a little. 🙂

No copyrights!
Stop heckling me programmer, or I will alert all your posts and have them removed and have Knightwest's beautiful copyrighted poetry left for everyone to read. Then He can sue Rigomordis for plagiarism.

All proceeds go to his unlicensed attorney, that would be me.

I'm not doing this to annoy anyone (honestly 🙄 ), but because I really
think I got it right this time. Any constructive pointers are much
appreciated:

We meet up after work as agreed.
We meet by the steady ol' city oak.
A tender kiss and smile combined.
High above cloud scattered skies.

And passing through falling darkness,
in evening traffic painted air,
and scent of food accompany us,
though we leave our city behind.

We walk along the leaf padded meanderings.
Hand in hand through chill struck air.
Beams of greyish light graced by yellow red
in nature's daywise thinning coat.

Passing deserted grounds,
hiding in ever growing shadows.
Dying sun leaving traces;
warm and wise; all-caring.

Passing by the shimmering pond,
ripples of water greeting wind,
inspiring moon and street light to guarding day's treasure,
guarding day's treasure through gleaming reflections.

And once we reach our doorstep,
our cheeks coloured in autumn chill,
our hearts filled with this ancient song;
when our autumn sunset is finally over,

fireside companionship awaits
our autumn
saturated
souls

Oh, I forgot:

We meet up after work as agreed. Why the fullstop?
We meet by the steady ol' city oak. why not old?
A tender kiss and smile combined. have you tried to kiss while smiling? it's impossible!
High above cloud scattered skies. Ambiguous, are the skys high above, or are the subjects high above them?

And passing through falling darkness,
in evening traffic painted air, city smog romantic?
and scent of food accompany us, I'm getting donut grease and raw onion here
though we leave our city behind.

We walk along the leaf padded meanderings. is meanderigns a word?
Hand in hand through chill struck air.
Beams of greyish light graced by yellow red make your mind up - grey, or yellowy red?
in nature's daywise thinning coat. daywise? is this a word?

Passing deserted grounds,
hiding in ever growing shadows.
Dying sun leaving traces;
warm and wise; all-caring.

Passing by the shimmering pond,
ripples of water greeting wind,
inspiring moon and street light to guarding day's treasure,
guarding day's treasure through gleaming reflections. repetition *bonk*

i lost the will to continue here. My constructive advice... sometimes you need to take a step backwards in order to go forward.

Lighten up. If you just want your ego massaged, keep it your private forum with your buddies.

If you want constructive criticism and feedback, post it on a poetry forum. I've a feeling you know it'd get quite roundly de-constructed though.

I wouldn't post here for advice about running, nor would I post on a running forum for advice about chess.

Anyone care to see my collection of log paintings?

A round of cider for all!
