Yeah it would, there would be one less.
When your moral compass is bust like that, it can not be fixed.

(I used to guard them).
why not nip it in the bud? most of the pedophiles were taken advantage of as children, so it would be only logical to kill the victims before they grow up into pedophiles.

burn the kids!

[b]Doubtful. Maybe in some local prisons, but in many prisons the regimes are mixed anyway, and you tend to find that the longer-term prisoners are more tolerant than the gangsta cons on remand for whom sentencing and the reality of prison hasn't yet hit home. If you're serving a life sentence, you learn to get along with anyone.
Incorrect, all child sex offenders aren't released into general population for their 'own safety' these people are the lowest of the low and should be eliminated.

Maybe a more intelligent approach would be to help abused children....

It's a similar scenario.. Jesus is busy in Africa while the people in Iraq die.

I'm sure this subject has been done to death in Debates and Spirituality, or was I just hoping? 😴

If it was such and easy problem to solve, don't you think it would have been done by now? 🙄

It's always plonkers who only do it to get a place in life, cause basically they are worth very little. 🙂.

Look, like a number of people on this site I work in prison, and I can assure you your information is completely incorrect: mixed regimes exist in some prisons (notably YOIs and the female sector where space is limited), and the population is accordingly mixed. The results are not as you claim.

As for the statement that all child sex offenders are the lowest of the low, I actually think that's a lot trickier than you suppose because there are gradations involved: if you're thinking of a tabloid headline premeditated child sex ring where children are systematically raped, maybe; but what if the sex offender in question is someone like this -

http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/mostpopular.var.1394283.mostviewed.village_bobby_jailed_for_cybersex_with_girl_14.php

This offence is pretty bad and might become something much worse, but in and of itself is it for example worse than the offence here -

The real situation is a lot more complex and nuanced than you suggest.

Australia child sex offenders are housed in minimum security prisons along with other high profile criminals, ie cops

US they seperate them into a different compound in maximum security prisons along with high profile criminals, ie cops, snitches
(check out the America's Hardest Prisons program on TV.

So my information is not incorrect you are!

Any person who commits these soughts of crimes against children, women, mentally ill people, the elderly are the lowest of the low, (I'm not saying people who take others lives through muderous intent, complete stupidity or through pure lunacy are any better by any means) why you ask because the effects of their crime go on for years for the victoms their families and future partners.

"check out the America's Hardest Prisons program on TV"

Sensationalism. Tv programmes of that ilk are there to make money for the channels through their vulgar and distasteful material, watched and believed to be normal prison life by many - for some reason 😕

Any crime, committed against any person, has an effect that may go on for years and may affect their families and friends, depending on the crime.
Personal experience may make us more aware of a particular crime, but people don't realise how much more damaging it is to have it broadcast in the media where the victims would prefer to keep the details private.

"Many of the smaller county and city jails do not classify prisoners (that is, there is no separation by offense type and other factors). While some of these small facilities operate as "close security" facilities, to prevent prisoner-on-prisoner violence and increase overall security, others may put many prisoners into the same cells without regard to the criminal histories of the prisoners."

You were saying?

As for Australia, I'd be very surprised if you weren't wrong there, too - New Zealand and Canada have been operating mixed regimes in recent years. Of course, if you have any evidence to adduce to support your claim, I'd be very interested to see it.

In the UK they are segregated in a "nonce wing" of the prison, for their own safety.
