His glass eye had fallen out, and had rolled down the street. He despaired of digging throught all that muck to find it.

Meanwhile, on a small farm in Kansas, a boy was growing up.

Playing in an irrigation ditch, the boy-- Frank by name -- uncovered a glass eye, and wondered how it got there.
