If you can afford chessbase light you are correct.....otherwise you are wrong in that chess base contains fritz and crafty engines.

I don't have anything more "useful" to add. I agree with you that David Tebb on his own isn't sufficient and somehow for the good of the site more efficient Game Mods are needed. I don't have the stomach, time, equipment fit for the task.

As for my view on where you've posted it, well I stand by that, if you'd posted it in Site Ideas instead of over 300 posts there might be around 100 on topic that would help to make a persuasive case to set before the powers that be.

Voting for more Game Mods is probably out (when did Russ last put anything to the vote, I don't blame him as it's making a rod for his own back). If people want to be Game Mods then the best way forward I can see is for them to volunteer.

Are you back again? The ever popular knower of all that is a chess engine.

I would'nt take your word for anything ringtailhunter.

Chessbase is a program designed for interfacing with databsed games. Use it for whatever you feel you need to.

Duh, it is a good tool for analyzing games and working on variations with the engines.
Please check your facts before mis-informing or slamming another member.

Well, there was a time when I resented your accusations No1, but I have let all that bad stuff go. So here we are at this point in history of RHP and I can only speak about what's happening now and what will come of it in the future. I'd be willing to work with you if you decide to stay, but I will not take on the responsibility of a game moderator unless Russ is serious about supporting it.

If Russ wants to do something about this problem I can help him, but I have seen no indication that he's interested. 😳

If Russ wants to take control of this situation he knows how to get ahold of me.

That's an absolute fallaccy. It's a library of past games played. You put in a position and you search for other games of that opening and you work thusly. It's a databse program, not an engine, you need to be better informed.

Who are you talking to mike?

Do you think you're accomplishing anything here? Why don't you take this wonderful newfound chess engine knowledge and go catch us a real cheat? Or will you spend the rest of your days sparring with middle ground players in the forums?

You're talking about two different things. There is a database on Chessbase.com. There are also database management systems sold called Chessbase 6.0-9.0 and a free version downloadable called ChessbaseLite. Chessbase 9.0 has a Fritz 5.32 and a Crafty engine for game analysis; ChessbaseLite has a Fritz 4 for analysis. These products are primarily to create databases of your own games.
