Ummm... Why would you call yourself a moron? 🙄
Speaking from the point of view of the owners and administrators - without presuming of course to speak for Russ and Chrismo, or to put words in their mouths...well, let us imagine for a moment that i fill these roles...
1.One way of judging whether an issue like this really needed attention for the good of the site would be to track the health of the site. If the site seemed to be in decline, we might be moved to find ways to combat this trend. If on the other hand the site appeared to be prospering, we would presumably take an 'if it ain't broke...' attitude, and get on with enhancing the site in positive ways.
2.I think the best numbers to track for the purposes of assessing the health of the site would be number of subscribers/users and number of games played over, say, a week. I don't know about the number of subscribers, but in the week or so since i started posting in this thread, the number of active users has gone from 7585 to 7626. Of course that would have to be tracked over a longer period to see if there really is an upward trend. The game rate also seems to be increasing rapidly. It's not so long ago we were anticipating game 1,000,000. Now we're past 1,270,000. That is, more than one in five of all RHP games was played in the what, last couple of months? Looks like the site is in great health to me.
3. So even if a couple of people leave over this, and i suspect the number would be very low, the number of incoming new users would more than compensate. And they might have more pleasant forum personalities too. The site is prospering, the sky isn't falling.
