Things are going very well. We've got the Cardinals set up for an exact repeat of the '68 Series now. Thus far, the game order has been identical. Cardinals win game 1. Tigers win game 2. Cardinals win games 3 and 4. So the Cardinals lead the Series 3 games to 1, just as they did in 1968. Of course, in '68 the Tigers came back to win the next 3 games in a r ...[text shortened]... piece. So now the stage is all set for a glorious Tigers' comback victory. Mark my words.
Past performance is not indicative of future results... or something like that.

I did think that early in the game, Tim McCarver was being much too critical of the Tigers, such as Monroe failing to move the runner over to 3rd base. I mean pointing out the bad play is one thing, but to keep on it for as long as they did......it was as if Simon Cowell was invited to the booth as a special guest.

Later on, of course, when the ...[text shortened]... inally seemed justified. Maybe if Leyland were as critical of his players as McCarver has been.
I think McCarver is the worst announcer in the history of sports. He's like a black hole that sucks the life out of every game he touches. Plus both he and Buck are obviously St. Louis partisans. McCarver played for the 1968 Cardinals. He had the dubious distinction of making the last out in that Series by popping up to Bill Freehan.

If you have hope, I still do. Good to hear everything is going as planned.

Why isn't Ernie Harwell calling all these games? 😠

Why didn't FOX show Al Kaline and Willie Horton throwing out the first pitch in game one? Or Sparky and Trammell throwing out the first pitch in game two?

Because FOX is a black hole that sucks the life out of everything it touches.

Funny how almost EVERYONE I know (regardless of what team they're fans of) seem to agree with this. And for the most part, they don't like Buck either. I don't understand how these guys have gotten so in broadcasting. I actually know a couple people that watch the games on Fox muted, and listen to the radio announcers (which isn't as easy as I thought it would be, because of the delay.)

I feel the same way about Joe Theismann on ESPN. 😠

Yea, never liked him much either. Not many do... as an announcer, at least.

He's not nearly as bad as the gasbag that used to sit next to him on Sunday nights. I'm referring, of course, to Paul McGuire. "Let me tell you somethin'! Watch this right here!" MUTE!

Ex-punters becoming color analysts. What's next? 5 minutes with the Detroit Tigers' batboy on Pardon the Interruption?

5 outs to go. Not looking too good.

Edit: 3 outs to go. We've got Ordonez, Casey, and Rodriguez coming up in the 9th. Hmmm...maybe they'll load the bases and Polanco will hit a grand slam for his first hit in the Series.

LOL. Maguire is a sack of hot air, for sure, but I did enjoy listening to him rip into Theismann and vice versa. The dude has an entire section named after him at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

One down. Casey's up to bat. He's hitting .500 for the Series.

Nope. It's all up to Polanco now.

Edit: Polanco walks. First and third. Two outs. C'mon Inge.
