The post that was quoted here has been removedYes, this idea of responsibility is personification. But the question here IS that it is morally wrong to beat and essentially kill an animal that has done no harm. I know those savage pit bull terriers are frequently cruel, but spaniels are innocent.

And Phlabibit, I agree that humans have extincted animals and ground thousands of species into the dust. Its the same with zoos- they're often locked in cages for humanity's amusement, and frequently maltreated.

The post that was quoted here has been removedI was pointing out that humans are more then animals.
Animals are in need of our pretection because they are unable to pretect themselves in the same way that we can. They are also less able to contribute to the world.
Everything you say is true but I still have more compassion for a human then any other animal. I haven't explained why I do realise that!
Don't you have more compassion for a human then an animal?
