I was pointing out that humans are more then animals.
Animals are in need of our pretection because they are unable to pretect themselves in the same way that we can. They are also less able to contribute to the world.
Everything you say is true but I still have more compassion for a human then any other animal. I haven't explained why I do realise that!

The cruel and in humane treatment of animals is a pre curser to mass murder, so the two articles are inter related. I wouldn't be surprised if the pig farmer was an early abuser of animals also! I won't comment further on the inanity of the English criminal court system ;(
