I sort of see Feivel's point .In the justice system a criminal gets a lot of attention .But this is countermanded by the punishment given to him. Here we have the cheaters given a lot of publicity but no action taken by the site Administrators on them.

Well to be honest he already posted a thread to say stop publicly naming people for cheating, and since that's exactly what's happening in this thread, I imagine his stance may be to avoid the thread completely. šŸ˜‰
Well,me and other users flooded him about this matter but to some he never replied.
I received a vague response telling that maybe,in the future, something will be done, but nothing for the present moment.

Thing being this way we (the honest players) have the full right to point out who's using an engine, since 1) using engines is forbidden and 2)it's not like many witch hunts, analisis of games and full evidence has been presented here and 3)cheaters didn't stopped their behaviour and they happily continue, sure of their immunity guaranteed by this ''so-wanted-silence'' about this matter.

This seems to be the longest thread in the site ideas forum ever.

Your description sounds like a vigalante group. in theory it sounds fine but remember that the TOS goes both ways. Although you target may or may not be using an engine, your posting is harrasing to them and that is against the TOS. Why is it wrong for them to break the TOS but ok for you and your group?

Where did I say that you said that they weren't seeking attention?;-)
I said that they were not seeking this kind of attention and it's written pretty clearly.............

If we continuer to give them that attention then you must live with the resultant increase in engine use.
Do you not think that, rather than saying that increased engine use is the fault of the people who highlight it, it can actually be blamed on the fact that it is shown that no action is taken against proven cheaters.

Attention is attention. Perhaps you know the mindset of a cheater better than anybody else. As I asked you quite pointedly...WHY?

No. As I said earlier i have more opponents now (since this thread started here) that are computers who wern't computers before this thread started. This thread is pointing out the folly of "vigilante" justice.

Well,it's pretty obvious that a cheater wants to have a recognising because of his rating, while we're giving them the recognising that they don't want.
However .........why what?

well,I'm sure that you're happy to play computer opponents since you can eat engines like candies (i'm speaking seriously),but us poor rated peones prefer to lose to a player who really thinks his own moves rather that turning on a chess program.

Why do you think you know the cheaters mindset better then anybody else? Cheaters want attention (recognition if you prefer) and that doesn't have anything to do with the type.

No..I would rather be playing a real person but I am playing the game in either case. I can assure you that a few of my losses came at the hands (chip) of a computer but life goes on.
