No not at all. I just know how some feel about gun control and when this happened this morning I was very, very upset. So no I'm not blaming them at all. I'm sure everyone is as upset as the next person and will be willing to help this problem out at all cost.

I feel the same way I did before I knew about the crime, some mad man murdered
people that doesn't mean we blame the weapon it is the wicked sinful hearts of
man that does this. There more than a few people with weapon guns and other
types that never do these types of things, we need to look at the root causes.

We live in a country that glorifies killing in our entertainment as movies and TV
setup people so that they appear justified when they kill others, and we tell
jokes about it then we are shocked when it occurs in real life. Before I’d ban
guns I’d ban the films that make this type of behavior normal and right.

Good points on the entertaiment issues. It's out of hand and certianly affects ones who do expose themselves to that. And the youger one is the more it would seem to influance their views on life.

Don't Canadians consume almost identical entertainment? Why is it less "out of hand" on their side of the border?

Would you say that Kelly's comment was a "good point on the entertainment issue" with regard to Canada?

I have no idea what Canadians would think of her comment.

No. You misunderstand. I am not asking you about what Canadians think. I am asking you what YOU think might be the actual applicability of the 'entertainment argument' in your country when it does not apply in the same way a few hundred metres across an invisible national boundary.

Who says it does or doesn't apply to Canada? I have no idea. If they have a better record then the USA that is great.
I'm not familiar with their gun laws or what they watch so I can't help you out much here. Perhaps you can research this for yourself on the internet.

Well their gun crime statistics and deaths from gunshots etc. is far lower than those of the U.S. and they watch pretty much the same kind of TV and films.

What do you make of the contrast with Canada in terms of the correlation of movies and TV and gun crime?

Thats great. Maybe the USA can learn why and it could help us out here.

What do "us gun people" have to do with the unpredictable act of a particular deranged individual? What about "you economic people" or "you educational people" or "you psychology people?" What is pointing fingers going to accomplish?
