"Isaac vs Ishmael"

Spirituality

@sonship
I don't know what it is about "let's do this in bite sized pieces" that you don't understand, but we have already established in more than one thread that mass cutting and pasting doesn't cut the mustard. I struggle with sermons.

Now I might have missed the answer, but the question that I was interested in was

"You believe in an Anti-Christ as an individual? How do you know that they are not already here and in power?"

I am willing to engage with you if we can do brief answers. Lets see if we can engage with no more than 250 words per post? Let's keep it punchy ?

Come, restore my faith in you.

Rev 83:18

"That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth."

King James Version

Please stop trying to twist my words to score cheap points
Could you update the verse here? Revelation doesn't have 83 chapters.

You do not understand the man. He thinks he is a teacher, a lecturer, a preacher, and everyone here are students and potential converts / devotees. He cannot discuss a topic as an equal on a one to one basis, exchanging ideas and points. Quite probably [as Divegeester pointed out recently], he has superiors in his church looking on at how he handles these discussions hence his zeal and continued insistence on winning arguments and carrying on at length. For him this is not just a casual discussion among chess-players.

What makes it worse is that most of his doctrine is not clearly stated in the bible, so long explanations are necessary. Most of these bore you to death or you get tired of the semantics and playing with words. Your have balls if you want to encourage him to continue discussing anything.

@Suzianne

Quite right, it was Psalms, slight difference. having an Essex moment.

I've been trying to engage with Son on a proper level for a bout four years. It's the cutting and pasting sermons that I struggle with. I want to discover the real Son.

I figured that it had to be, unless the number itself was wrong. 🙂

I did not address your question in my post.
I picked up on a little request you made about conciseness and applied it to part of
your entire post. ( It could even have been a previous post).

This confused you.
I take responsibility for using a confusing technique.

Having said that, let's establish something up front if possible, that it may not have to come up again.

Just because I have many things that are at my instant command to recall and write does not mean I am cutting and pasting. I am not bragging. I am just stating a fact which seems to be misinterpreted and repeated.

Just because I am filled with recall and seeming quick replies and writing out of passages and explanations of what I am trying to convey does not mean I am always cutting and pasting from some OTHER publication mechanically.

I go by the assumption that really open and eager seekers should not CARE that much about HOW replies come, if they are substantive.

To the antichrist question with maximum brevity.

IF I give you the maximum short to the point answer on the Antichrist it PROBABLY will only give rise to an objection as if I missed something.

The antichrist is a person (the MAN of sin) with a number which is the number of a man.

And now you are likely to spell out problems with this view which you think I am unaware of.

I HAVE NO IDEA of what you mean by -
"the real Son". For what its worth to you or not, what you see here is what I am.

Would you like the two of us to meet on ZOOM ?
Would that be more the real Jack Wilmore (aka sonship) to you ???
I do not invite everybody just yet.

What do you think of that crooked sleazy technique. When you told him to make his posts short, he took one long post and cut it up and made 4 short ones. Clearly he thinks people are stupid.

For those of you wanting to ride the "Thou Shalt Not Cut and Paste" bandwagon.

There are some people who live in the word of God, diving into it everyday.
I write out by hand passages which I quickly know where to find because of years of loving the Scriptures and being filled with good ministry and experiences of the Lord Jesus. (Sometimes I cut and paste) WAY more often write out by hand everything.)

I didn't say I arrived at some perfection or expertise.
I just mean it is natural for me to recall exactly what passages I deem appropriate and what discussion might be relevant to a given point.

Anyone is free to get better discussion somewhere else if you find me too annoying.

You don't have to do it in one big answer; bite size pieces that people can understand is the order of the day, then we might get a constructive conversation going with more than three or four involved?
Here is my take on all of this. While it is nice to study the bible and try to understand and predict the events of the last days I tend to shy away from all of that. First it is not a requirement that we do that neither is it a virtue. On the contrary many have fallen prey and have gotten involved with, false prophets and false teachers. The JWs are the classic example, and have made hundreds of these prophecies and fooled many into selling property, and making bad decisons. They have made themselves complete fools. Other Christians have done it on a smaller scale. Even sonship here boasts of his understanding of these times, and is always trying to tell people about it.

Here is what Jesus said:
Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
(Matthew 24:23-24 KJV)

I take that in a general sense... dont be too quick to believe people. Christians predictions are false all the time. I have been hearing these end time prediction for 60 years and they are all false. I dont get caught up with them but many people do, and have caused havoc in their lives. My view is read the bible, understand as much as you can and keep the commandments of Christ. Jesus said no harm will come to the elect. Be one.

@Suzianne

Apologies ;-)

@Rajk999

I think that they (JW's) are more associated with trying to crack big prophesies than anyone else that I can think of, though there are not stand alone.

I worked with one in the 90's that actually admitted that they had got something majorly wrong in the early 70's - might of been Armageddon?

I haven't heard of any of them selling homes, but I have read somewhere recently of Kingdom Halls in America being sold?
