@divegeestersaid You haven’t, and saying you have is dishonest chaney3.
What you have done is “replied”, that is not the same thing as answering the challenge. Credit to KellyJay he has answered, albeit his response is a level of crazy I’ve not come across before, but at least he ballsed up and made a call.
Dive, the real issue here is you, not your challenge.
You've said that you will toss out the entire New Testament before you'd ever believe that hell exists.
@divegeestersaid Reposting for all you brave hell-fire Christians, as per KellyJay’s request:
Here’s a passage for all you hellfire and burning believers to have a look and and tell me this; which bits are literal and which are metaphors and symbolisms?
From Revelation 19
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and Tru ...[text shortened]... nd the burning ... am I right?
What a desperately sad doctrine of death it is that you cling to.
You've already decided it's all bullshiit, so what makes you think you're right?
The answer: because you don't want it to be true, so you'll interpret it any way possible to avoid hell being a reality.
Your OP is a telling example of you interpreting the bible to fit things into your own idea of how things should be.
@chaney3said I'm a Christian.
Maybe not a good one, because of doubt, but I am a Christian.
even JC had doubts.
Doubt is part of the human condition, it is part of the mystery.
Before enlightenment chopping wood carrying water, after enlightenment chopping wood carrying water.
It is implied here that the human condition persists despite the knowledge of the divine
@divegeestersaid This thread is about my OP and the challenge therein. Feel free to respond to that if you can.
Your OP is not interesting.
What's interesting is that you've decided hell doesn't exist, despite the bible saying it does.
Why you feel that way is what's interesting. You have decided that you'll accept the parts of the bible that suit your own beliefs, and will discard the rest.
